How to use bionic arm with keyboard/mouse?

I have used it by running at the target and then tapping LMB to hit the enemy - it sends them flying and you get the 'bionic' sound effect.

What I'd like to know is what is the differnce between the bionic arm and the stun arm. I figured the stun arm would be able to electrocute the enemy without you having to take a run up.

You have to equip and ready the stun arm.

Select Stun Arm as a weapon

Hold RMB/Aim to ready the arm

Hold LMB/Fire to charge the arm

Release LMB/Fire to discharge the arm, charge past one bar to make the arm longer ranged (and take longer to recharge)
OR
Release RMB/Aim to cancel the charge.
