Low FPS on a high end PC?

I only downloaded the game yesterday, and noticed how horribly it performed. I tried lowering the settings to the lowest, but I get the same FPS. ( Which is around 20, I believe. )

Yes, I'm using m14 4710 with gtx765m, runs perfect on high 1366x768, 1080 is a little bit lag though.

dunno about you folks but Phantom pain is pretty damn well optimized that my friends work laptop without a dedicated gpu can run the game although on lowest settings. I use a gtx 870m and i run it on high 1080 at 60 fps which is unuusal considering this is a 2015 AAA game. I'm saying you guys ehh...technically should be able to get better fps since its such a well optimized game

This game is pretty well optimized, I have a laptop 660m. Does your computer have that annoying nvidia Optimus tech? If so, make sure the game is using your actual nvidia card.

The usual, check video drivers, check your resolution, antivirus, programs that might be running that affect performance, etc.

The Fox Engine is pretty well done, IMHO. It should run easily on most PCs and Laps.

I run this game on my Asus G750 Laptop just fine. I certainly don't have the greatest specs either (GTX765M, i7 4700HQ, 12gigs ram). With all the games I have on Steam, Origin and UPlay, Witcher 3 is the only one that makes this thing chug. For MGS5 only 4 settings are set to "high", everything else is maxed with solid 60fps.

also if you don't have it on steam im assuming you downloaded a cracked version of the game which no one can really vouch for in terms of performance. Since steam IS the only marketplace for pc to own it you probably idk...have some strange version of pp

I do have it on steam. But I didn't buy it. Maybe it's because of steam library sharing?

And yes it's a laptop. But, I heard that it's also optimized for laptops and call run at a solid 60 fps. I just wanna know why am I getting low frames on this game. I didn't pirate the game, or cracked it. I just wanna know why the hell is it running at 19 frames or whatever on the MENU screen. ( I also tried playing the game. 20 fps isn't exactly wonderland. )
Edit: I wonder, is it because of my first time setup? I don't know if I went through it or not, the game just started..

I can run this game on very high settings and a good resolution with a gtx 970

I could use some help here too. Im having the same 20 fps problem. Only thing is, im not new to the game and not on a laptop. I used to play it at 1440p 60hz on my gtx 970, upgraded to gtx 1080 hybrid, cant get more than 23 fps even at 1080p. its like the frame rate is manually stuck.

just set everything to lowest possible settings and its still stuck at 24 fps

that laptop is not what i call a high end PC. 850M is considered a low end GPU these days.
first thing i would suggest is to run everything at lowest settings with 1280x720 resolution and just work your way up until the game have a good balance between looks and performance.
