There is a "stealth" function on the D-Walker later on in it's development, but you still can't get very close to enemies.
I drive my vehicle up to an outpost (about 60-100 meters) away, do what I have to do, then run back to it and continue.
Nanoparasitexrayvision, son.
But attack vehicles also follow the same rules as normal stealth. If the enemy doesn't see exactly where you are, a Combat Alert is not triggered.
I run similar to what Puggles does. I aproach from blind spot and park as close a possible to objective. I pick spots that would be good exit points or a place that is in the path of the secondary objective. Sometimes I did not predict the possible outcome or future objectives, and my vehicle has been left behind just to cut down on time.
D-Walker is excellent with transportation though. (if you don't care about having a buddy) Just give him the basic tranq gun, basic CQC arm, and the scout(marking) head. Cheap, park and forget, fast, and can be of some use with the scout head.
