Actually, Ocelot is the one who convinces Liquid to start his revolt at Shadow Moses. Liquid was a protege of Ocelot more than anything.
he helped you on MGS3. HE is ADAM, sent to help snake. ok, and have other 2 more roles. but never a bad guy.
even om MGS4, he put solid on the finishing line to eliminate the patriots.
He never fought for Cipher, Russia, or the Patriots. He fought for Big Boss and only The Boss
who, oTACOn?
Ocelot was trying to take down the Patriot's just like you. But his method would have ended up bringing civilization down into anarchy while Sunny and Otacon's virus just took down the worlds dependence on the war economy and destroyed the Patriot AI's and information control. Ocelot's method would have ended in Big Boss vision....a world of war and chaos where soldiers would reign. Like Ocelot said "the Wild West all over again". Snake unknowingly spared the world from that fate.
Ocelot wasn't necessarily a good guy, just like Big Boss wasn't. But he was trying to take down the Patriots and make the world 'better' in his mind.
stopped reading here, OP doesn't know anything about MGS
He appeared to be your enemy but what he was really trying to do was dismantle Cypher. Even in MGS4 where he appears to be a moustache twirling villain, he's trying to destroy the Patriots AI and take control away from Cypher.
In MGS he makes sure Solid Snake finds and destroys REX. In MGS2 he is grooming Raiden to become an incredible saboteur like Snake, and guiding him toward GW in the hopes that Raiden will destroy it. In MGS4 he's all about disrupting the Patriots AI, screwing up the nanomachines etc.
He puts up this token resistance to make people think he doesn't want what he wants.
The thing is, Ocelot is a spy. Even in MGS3 he's not who he appears. He's always playing whatever role it takes to get what he wants.
Anyway, Ocelot being friendly in MGSV isn't that incongrouous when you consider he acts really wildly different depending on the situation.
