I thought less of Otacon when he couldn't stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crying throughout the entire series. But yea, his dad was a douchebag.

Although Otacon was never 'cool' I actually respected him a little bit more knowing how ♥♥♥♥ his father must've been to him. He grew up finer than most given the circumstances.

We knew Otacon had a horrible dad from MGS2. I was surprised so many people were shocked at Huey being a terrible person in this game. I mean, in MGS2 Otacon mentions the time Huey tried to kill himself and his stepdaughter (baby E.E.) by rolling his wheelchair into the swimming pool while holding her.

Really? Huey being ♥♥♥♥ has only made me more impressed with Otacon. Huey was a coward. Otacon was a coward as well, but unlike Huey he never just sat on the back lines and hoped that the victor wouldn't execute him. Remember that in MGS2, Otacon was right there at the front with Snake.

I don't think Otacon was ever a "coward". Maybe a bit in over his head in the first MGS game, but in MGS2 he's crawlin out of his shell and being a big damn hero. In MGS4, he's a vital support element who never backs down and is one half of Sunny's adopted parents. (The other half is Snake.) By MGR:R, Sunny says Otacon's not only still a guy doing nerd-robotics stuff, but he's also bringing home a different woman every day of the week.

He's like Jaleel White.
