yup. I would have rather had MGS 4 engine with real gun names and no cutscenes then franken guns, a VA I didnt even know exsist till this , a new ♥♥♥♥♥♥ stream lined engine and what ever other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the money was wasted on for the budget.

Theres already a ongoing mod project to give the weapons real names that somewhat match the model.

I know they are releasing some outfits for players and the dreaded horse armor (CURSE YOU BETHESDA!) So I dout they will put up the time/money to organize a paid mod thing with steam and it's 'community' ever since the Skyrim fiasco.

The M16 and the M4 are already in so many other games.

but the m16 has always been in the mgs games its same as the operator pistol or the mk22

It doesn't work that way......

If Konami used the IRL names of the firearms featured in MGSV, they would have to basically be paying the manufacturers' licensing "fees" and using the money generated from the paid mod to offset the cost, which would be a loss as those fees are already pretty high to begin with. They shelled out for MGS4, but with the drama between their insane CEO and Kojima, they probably decided against it because reasons. EA did the same thing with the battlefield series, they pulled the names from the weapons and altered them ever so slightly to avoid getting in trouble and in turn, not having to pay a dime to the manufacturers.

In short, it would be a very stupid thing to do and would be a tad redundant when using the current names for the firearms in game is far more practical.


tl:dr: Paid mods are a bad idea.

Yeah, the handguns i missed a lot. MGS4 was perfect in that aspect, so much detail.

You start out with an M4 ripoff and there are .45 pistols, 9MM pistols, revolvers, multiple rocket launchers, multiple shotguns, at least a couple of different assault rifles, SMG's, Flash and frag grenades, mines....the game has a ton of gear.

I guess it justifies the RnD team having to come up with all this gear and name it something fictional.

RnD atleast made everything franken-modular....
