(Spoilers) So is Sahelanthropus...

Is Sahelanthropus in MGSV the same as Metal Gear Rex in MGS1? It looks identical; the head shape, the way it looks when its hunched over, and the fact that Eli (read: Liquid) has it at the end means to me that Rex is just a repaired and modified Sahlenthropus without the AI and a radome, railgun and laser added.

I know there was a cut Episode 3 where Eli was going to use it against the Diamond Dogs, but since that was cut, I assume it wasn't cannon, and therefore Ol' Sahel was saved for the events in MGS1.

I'd like to point out that in MGS1, DARPA and ArmsTech were the ones doing the research for the US army. And since FOXHOUND were a part of the US army, and Eli was a member of FOXHOUND, it could be possible.

But I think I am wrong though.

I swear I'm not crazy. Here[vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net] is Sahel hunched over, and here[vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net] is Rex.
