Custom Music Formats
Some people might still have trouble getting their music to show up in the game, so I have tested popular formats.

iTunes AAC(m4a), Vorbis Ogg, FLAC and WAV do not show up at all.
Mp3 encoded using LAME 3.99.5 has worked and plays back fine.

I have heard of people having their mp3s show up but not play, that might be the work of a bad/old encoder. Fre:ac and other competent transcoders will use the latest LAME mp3 encoder.

.mp3 is the only format that works. No other format will be detected. This is mentioned in all official sources about the custom soundtrack.

Ahh yes my bad should of checked the manual first. I was just curious if it also worked with others. Quoted from the web manual:

"Various music recordings that can also be set as your helicopter's arrival music.
It is also possible to use MP3 files placed in the "CustomSoundtrack" folder withing the game's installation directory.

* Files must be located less than 2 directories deep under the "CustomSoundtrack" directory.
* The maximum is 100 songs.
* Please do not delete or move songs while playing the game."
