Put S+ or S++ staff in the squad.

It doesn't seem that way. Maybe if you have S++ soldiers. You should see some of the online ones though. With S soldiers the chances are like 13%.

Deployment missions are total ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, if i send full S rank soldiers to recruit an S+ rank soldier i have 8% chance of success, what the ♥♥♥♥.

I failed 61% 20 times (not kidding) and it was only when I threw A+ and A++ at it with a 51% chance that I managed to complete it. After that, I kept sending squads with +/- 50% and they never failed.

In the end, RNG is RNG but don't trust the success percentage.

The percentages are so messed up lol. I used to do all the 95% success/3-5% loss missions and my loss rate was closer to 40% for the 5% loss rate and 20% for the 3% loss rate. The failure rate of the mission was also higher than 5% sometimes, and other times it wasn't. For harder missions with less than 90% success rate the fail rate is way higher than it would tell you.

The failure rate and troop loss rate in this game are way too high. It is so much more less leniant than Peace Walker, and in Peace Walker your troops fought enemy helicopters, armored vehicles, and tanks far more often. Even then I thought Peace Walker was a tad bit unfair at higher level missions, but man, The Phantom Pain is really bad at it.

There is no leniance at all.

Yep i hate this, most of time the deploment missions simply do not worth the loss of the soldiers.

The thing is that you could choose your vehicles in PW. You could send in your superupgraded MG and 7 invincible god-tanks and win anything withous losing more than one tank, two if you were unlucky. You can't choose anything here and your MG just sits in the hangar. :/

I sent a++ and a's in those ops, 3% isn't enough risk to put your s-s++'s on the line-up of death when eventual fail happens, put A-A++'s and flip a coin.

I usually throw A++ into those since I am overpacked with them. They succeed most of the time. Don't throw S/S+/S++ at the deployment since you're just wasting quality men for a mere 10% chance boost.

finished all deployment missions with A++ 50% chance was enough.. :VSnake:

Plus you could send in Zeke to wreck stuff. And on top of that, you rarely lost troops in that, and it allowed you easy access to get max health and stamina (9999 each) in Peace Walker for your units, so there was a non-financial incentive to constantly do that.

Aside from getting the bullhorn blueprint and some low fail rate/low loss rate online missions to get S ranked or higher troops, there's no reason to continually do these combat missions.

The only times they're worth it is for the missions for the bullhorn blueprint or that online special event mission right now where you get 3 S ranked combat units, lol.

Past that these missions are poo unless you got bad units you wanna kill off.
Bansheebutt Oct 12, 2015 @ 2:53pm
Combat Units with abilities (gunman) have slightly higher "Combat score" for dispatch missions.

Not sure if all abilities created equal, but the optimal squad would be S++s with Combat skills.

For rescue the peace keepers, my all S squad has 60% success chance.

What the hell is it with the new online "Staff Headhunting" deployments?! It will reward a few S or an S+ soldier and is ranked as difficulty "A" or "A+" and when I go to pick a squad, say all S+-S soldiers, my chances of success are between, like 8% and 12%! Why would anybody risk that? I'm hoping there's some unintended math glitch in there, because without being able to add my own vehicles or MG like in Peace Walker, there's literally no way to increase those odds.

yeah but the online ones they introduced are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. The chances are very very very low even with full A++ ranks, to a point that its more lucrative to just piss off the enemie bases then do the offline dispatches for storage sheds.
