METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Do you think part of the reason why Kojima quit....
Is because he disagree with konami's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ business plan with FOB "insurance" and the really bad micro transaction deals that messes with the balance of the game which ultimately ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game?

Kojima seems like a visionary, artist and idealist. From his past products, I feel he cares more about the quality of his product than making a little bit more money. I think that's one of the reason why he quits.

If I were him and I spent years of my life making a masterpiece, then someone want to intergrate a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ micro transaction in my game, I would've quit too.

I would not be surprised if the 'disagreement' stemmed from Konami pressuring Kojima productions to put far more 'micro transactions' into the game than Kojima wanted - he is usually far more story/experience and immersion focussed on his products than $$$-minded. Historically speaking at least...That has caused him problems in the past (going waaaaay over budget reportedly)

I think we could have get a better game when Konami just let Kojima do his job. I mean "he made" this series since 30 years and its a big part of his life. He wanted to make this game as good as possible no matter how much it costs. But Konami was crying because the budget for this game was lower and he was just over it. So they put in this sh*t microtransactions and cut out mission 51 which is an elemental part of the story. No f*cks that the story seems really unfinished now. There is no doubt that Konami f*cked this game. Kojima would never do sh*t like this.

Imo they forced him out because he keeps making these high budget AAA games. It doesn't really factor that these games reliably sell like hotcakes and are part of an extremely recognisable IP.

They're just moving away from games in general, so why keep a guy around who makes games that aren't PES?

I smell a big DLC that cost $20 and can't be played without having both a TPP and GZ save file but will fill in all plotholes and give a "true" ending to the game lol

I doubt it. Kojipro is kaput, at best we might get some cosmetics and maps for MGO. If even that.

I'm trying to find the source - but I understand that Kojima was contracted by Konami to make this game - His $$$ were already negotiated so I find it very unlikely that he'd 're-negotiate' his salary - just not done in Japanese business!

I will find it and update this post - but I am 99% certain it was not a salary issue that caused the rift. I'd stake my fortune that it was almost certainly 'creative differences'.....

This is part of it http://www.destructoid.com/metal-gear-solid-1-3-s-composer-might-know-why-kojima-and-konami-have-split-up-296699.phtml

Who cares about customes? They better give us story mission 51 to finish Eli's story. Raiden is the best anyways.

I haven't got the cyborg or raiden costume yet because I'll have to lose a certain buddy to complete all the missions for that. Is it really worth it?

Could someone tell me what is wrong with the currently offered paid parts?
I've spent exactly 0 (zero) extra on this game and have felt absolutely no need to do so.

It's a slippery sloap, they are going the exact rout as some phone games. i.e. the micro transaction directly affects the balance of the game.

Right now its:
-insurance, if you pay you'll not lose your stuff while everyone else do, so you can invade to your heart's content and not worry about invasion.

-Faster extra FOB, you can build extra FOB which increase your dispatch mission limit and give you an advantage on resource generation. Others that don't pay will only have 30 points every few days.......it'll be a while for any of them to get an extra FOB.

One wrong tweak or over tweak will make this game "pay to win" or extremely tedious for the ones that don't pay. Micro transaction that affect game mechanics or balance of the game is always ALWAYS bad.

True, he said he plans to work on stuff for the rest of his life.
Was on Twitter if someone's curious

As a gamer I can agree. However, if he often went over budget and the game sold like hotcakes but failed to make a profit or a decent enough profit for the investment then its an issue and needs to be addressed.

I am all for damn the money and make a quality game, but if you dont make a profit becuase of the "damn the money" attitude, you wont be making games much longer.

If however these games made a profit regardless of his overspending, Konami then needs to accept that he gets the job done and let him do his work.

I have not been able to find any facts about how much this game really sold outside of 3 million units in the first week. its reported to take 6 million copies to break even for this game, which if it did not even break even its a extremely large issue.

That they suck? Rather than offer some cool DLC like mission packs or new gear, we get some dumbass premium currency.

That's all that is on offer. Premium currency and protection insurance. It sucks, no one wants it and there's nothing else on offer except 3 costumes near the end of October.
