But story wise, it was just bad. >_<
I love it when people say. "you just don't get it. you gotta read between the lines. you gotta reread the story 30 times" all I hear is the story writing is bad and we don't want to miss it and we know there's a lot of plotwholes but we're going to use big words to cover that up.
Sometimes ya, there's indepth stuff you gotta look for, and sometimes it's just a poorly written story.
I already had a friend explain it properly. While you are acting like an arrogant prick who thinks he knows better and thus proving I'm right in finding it stupid.
and serriously? the first game is a copy of the second game? Please explain your ♥♥♥♥ or gtfo.
I suggest you watch this indepth review of MGS2, it's actually pretty well made and worth the watch, it's 40 mins long tho just a head's up.

Plus it gave me a birthday cake ~That made me smirk
I had fun with it honestly. The Katana mechanics I can NOT praise enough. That was Amazing.
The characters were interestings. Unique. Fatman on roller skates lol.
But it was just so... I don't know. Story didn't work for me.
Still, the passing of a torch thing as my friend explained makes it sound a lot less "bad" then I thought when I first beat it.
It seems that unless you understand what the creator was trying to do, it was a bad game.
...obviously, it didn't work.
still, seems a shame to have only intended to make one game. then again... case in point.... Highlander.
Lol this was fifteen years ago haha
But if I remember correctly, launch it on your birthday and you'll see a tiny birthday cake ( Top left I think ~maybe from the console thing )
Also I'm more of a gameplay first story second kind of person.
Because it's too similar to MGS doesn't make MGS 2 a bad game. Yes, the storyline is very convoluted, but it's not bad or lazy writing. Yes, Raiden can be annoying at times, but it was Kojima's effort of creating a more relatable protagonist, even though in the end it didn't work at all. Although I still think that MGS 2 is the worst game of the MGS series, it is by no way a bad game, in fact it's still one of the best games I've ever played. I mean it's still way better than the garbage that game developers released these days. I think the fact that you had fun with the game is already enough reason to NOT call it a bad game. But hey, it's your opinion, bro.
