METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

What happened to all the charm in MGO? The classic charm metal gear is known for?
What happened to all the fun stuff and little things that made MGO2 so fun and unique?

Where are GA-KO and Kerotan? The fact that when a enemy opponent picked up GA-KO and everyone trying to kill him would hit GA-KO by accident floating atop his head and it would quack and bob frantically.

Did you know MGO2 had text-chat? That was pretty unique for a console game and also there were certain commands you could type in the chat to do stuff as certain characters like Old Snake for example. He would scream Liquid when entering a command and even do the animation you see in MGS4 or when a match ended and if you typed <SONG> in chat, your character would sing the victory song and everyone doing it would also sing in unisen.

Johnny crapping his pants once he gets a high killstreak because he's nervous and a stink cloud would form that would make opponents get stunned in a coughing fit. Or him screaming Meryl's name after seeing her get killed infront of him and vice versa for Meryl.

Being able to come back as a ghost when you die in MGO2 made spectating games bearable, and you could even do pranks and mess with the players who are still alive. Even the codecs changed when you used them, instead you would hear the player do ghost noises.

And this isn't everything. There was a lot more.

I mean why is MGO3 so devoid of charm and personality?

Basically this, they took out everything that made MGO2 great and just replaced it with the barebones MGSV game mechanics and slapped it into 3 generic game modes.

It's not all that great to be entirely honest.

No one needed this cause we have BF4 and original COD and bunch of other shooters which is better in every aspect.

I find Cloak and Dagger to be insanely fun at times although I am not terribly fond of the other two modes. Is there an equivalent to Claok and Dagger in MGO2?

I only played the original MGO like once or twice, but I did sink hundreds of hours into MPO & MPO+ on the PSP which was sorta similar to the original MGO. I played MGO2 in 2010, but at that point the MGO2 community toxicity level was at an all time high and a level 0 player like me would just get kicked from every game for simply being new or accused of being a hacker on a throwaway account. MGO3 is simply the casual version of MGO. It's created to appeal to the average gamer not the hardcore MGO enthusiast. That being said I'm still having fun with MGO3.

Played a ton of mgo2 and mpo+ ever more. This is run and run. The previous online mgs games were way more social than this. Seems like they rushed mgo this time. Probaly got cut off money wise like chapter 3.

I was actually one of the nutcases who went out and purchased a network card and Subsistence just so I could play MGO for PS2 back in 2006. I miss the hell out of that game, and MGO2. The learning curve was steep, way steeper than MGO3 - but that's what made it fun honestly, you had to put in the work. MGO3 is kind of a mess in its current state, what I'm seeing is that it mostly becomes a spawnpoint orgy to rack up the most kills in the most effortless and underhanded way possible. This game needs more serious balancing and tweaking. You would get punished so hard if you tried to pull that kind of ♥♥♥♥ in MGO/MGO2 - not that they were without their problems (wallhacking, corpsekill glitch)

Then you shouldve joined those noob friendly servers that had similar level as yours because I had friends who joined MGO2 late and thats what they did and turned out fine.
