Wont play in 1080p no setting option past 1280×720

So i down load the game and i go to play i noticed graphics looked like last gen consoles. So i go to settings and there is no option past 1280×720 why is there no 1080p option for pc? Please help thanks! i7 4790k 16gb ram gtx970

Have owned the game for a while. Just wanting to play for the first ime. I had no 1080p option as well. My problem was beacuse I have a custom DPI setting in Windows. There are often problems with DPI and games so I start here. Go to the exe file for MG and then reight click for proberties. 2nd tab check the option to disable custom DPI.

I'm in 1080p.. disable all options under compatibility mode when you right-click mgsvtpp.exe, and make sure your desktop is in 1080p resolution.. If you can't go into 1080p period, there's another problem.

I did meet the same problem when I just install game.
and it took me a while to find out.

Have you checked or used GeForce Experience to see what options are available to you? I've heard of this before on other games if you care to try googling it.
