it does not because the ps4 controller are not compatible with windows unlike the 360/xbox one controllers due to both relying on directx. the sony controllers can be used but no company ever anticipates someone using a playstation controller on pc. so you will have to get a mod to have the button prompts and some software to be able to detect the controller but not to worry mate. I've got you covered.

My DS4 Controller will plug in and play to windows straight up with MGSV:TPP just the button prompts are the Xbox ones, So its not that the controller isnt compatable with windows
as it is, Just very few developers add in the PS recognisition (there are a handful of games on the market)

But thanks for letting me know that a Mod will be needed, Ill check out the Nexus mod and install it

sorry I wasn't aware that ps4 was compatible it's just what I've been told but It might just be that i'm mixing up ds3 and ds4

Thats fine :) There are PS4 emmulators for the DS4, so it prob isnt as smooth and not every game will detect my DS4 controller (Dark Souls 1 doesnt) so it might also need the game to be programmed to recognise the DS4 controller in some way

But thansk again for the responce, ill go look at the mods now

it only makes it think it is an xbox controller tbh so you would probably have to tell it which button = which

There is no need to use DS4Windows or any other 360 to DS4 emulator to play this game. The game already supports the controller natively with the same deadzones, light bar, touch pad, and sensitivity as the PS4 version. All you need to do is plug in the controller via USB. There are no DS4 button prompts, however. I really wish Konami would update them in because it's not certain if mods could trigger a ban if used through online play.

I highly doubt they would since you would have to be reported by players for them to even take noticed, which would be impossible since they can't see whats on your screen. plus I see obvious hackers that still have not been banned. but you never know I guess, you could always just use m/kb for online and controller for singleplayer if you are really worried about it

Both very valid points, Ye modding in online game can get you blocked ect, but im not even sure if Konami have even considered a system to detect mods let alone implement one
lets face it, Konami's code of buisness of late hasnt exactly been very good

If I remember correctly, people that had their soldiers locked in their game had one thing in common: they used mods. So Konami is cracking down on players with mods, though their treatment of actual hackers is... questionable at best.
