MGO: Controller VS Mouse/Keyboard
What's everyone using to play?

I'm curious about the ratio, I played hundreds of hours of MGSV with a controller because MGSV is one of the few games on PC that makes more sense with a controller. But I feel in an online environment that not playing Mouse/Keyboard is going to get you no where very fast given that mouse aiming is far more accurate and quicker than stick aiming.

But playing MGSV on Keyboard feels rather clunky and restrictive especially with the fairly limited binding customization options for people who don't use the regular key layout (Any key should be fair game to set something to honestly in this day and age).

So I'm wondering if it's worth just sticking with controller and adapting to the online environment or if everyone plays with the Mouse and I should probably save myself a headache and switch. I can't be the only one who wondered about which one is right to use.

Give it a shot IMO, MGSV works well with a controller for me, so if you enjoy MGSV with a controller, try it out for a bit :steamhappy:

I played singleplayer with controller, just felt right and everything was good.
In multiplayer however my reactions with the analog stick really suck (especially aiming with a sniper on a target that's running around is a pain in the butt) so I tried KB/M... which feels extremely awkward. Overall I'm not so sure if I'll end up going back to controller or keep on playing with KB/M, we'll see.

I've been playing with a controller and I've been doing just fine. I have considered using a mouse and keyboard but the keyboard controls confuse the ♥♥♥♥ out of me.

Controller. I play on a laptop, without the right space to set up an external keyboard it gets painful to play for more than 10 minutes. In all honesty, I haven't really bothered with kb+m in so long the controller is more comfortable. If I can keep pace with the "leet" ♥♥♥♥♥, it's good enough for me.

I can see this game being more balanced regarding controller vs. m+kb than most competitive shooters. Headshots are not 1 hit KO, there's aim assist when in close range (range and usefulness depends a lot on the weapon and attatchments) and it's not very focused on "twitch aiming".

That being said, playing scout with a pure sniper loadout will definitely be much better with a mouse.

This game benefits A LOT from a gaming mouse with extra buttons... moving with WASD only leaves 2 fingers (3 in a very awkward motion) to do a lot of things like sprint, crouch, reload, traverse/fulton, jump, quick dive, switch weapons, use binoculars, zoom binoculars etc. Sometimes you'll NEED to do lots of these at the same time; multitasking that with the left hand while you try to move the characters might be a little bit tough with the fast paced action.

With the controller, you sacrifice camera movement momentarily for accessing some of these actions on the face buttons, but IMO, it's much better than compromising movement.

All in all, I'd say both have pros and cons and it's all about getting used to whatever fits your playstyle and muscle memory better.

Every multiplayer is better with mouse, because you have better accuracy. but because MGSV and MGO have so manny functions, it feels a little weird at time to have keys you wont ever press in a normal FPS, to actually do something...specially the "sprint" key wich is "press shift to sprint mode", instead of "hold to sprint".

Its a matter of preference ,I play with a controller nad MG0 feels nice, but to leave a match you need a keyboard. Also, as of now Im not counting my accuracy/aim into consideration since my internet will suck untill February when I can have a descent online experience.

It depends on your preferences and the game itself.
