METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

MGS5 in Windows 10?
I've seen some people around saying the game doesn't run correctly if at all in Windows 10.
But that was all in early launch.

So I'm wondering if that's still the case or if it has since been fixed?

I'm running Windows 10 and it's been fine for me. I do prefer to run the game in Windowed borderless mode, but W10 does have issue not following the option for Window Borderless mode so I created a little AHK Script to remove the windowing borders completely which I can trigger with a quick hotkey press. Becuase W10 stupid blocky metro theme takes up about 5 pixels of spacing on the screen when you could instead have a clean borderless window. It works for most other games too as well.

But apart from that the game runs pretty well under Windows 10.

It is no problem that MGSV can be run on Win 10. I had run the program for months!

Leaving aside the fact that windows 10 is garbage the game runs perfect for me.

I just said that to show you there's nothing wrong with MGSV using WIN10 and you just say "Jesus.. R.I.P" Alright.
I umm.... think you misunderstood.
But I'm sorry.

I'll probably need to use a script like that aswell. Since I also prefer to run games in borderless windowed mode. Always seem to have issues alt tabbing when in full screen.

Anyways I have to wait til my CPU gets here before I can play unfortunately. (Accidentally ordered from a seller in Japan, lol)

Over 800 hours of MGSV in Win 10 and I can say for certain nothing windows-related has gotten in the way of my enjoyment.

Fantastic. And is that seriously how many hours you have logged? The 1400 before has me in awe aswrll since the last game to rob me of 100+ hours of life was FFXIII-2

Here's what I use in my AHK Script which you activate with Ctrl+Alt+F to get nice clean borderless windowed mode, you might want to adjust the screen size and X Y position of the window and position to suit your needs depending on your kind of layout setup. This layout I use places the window in the left upper side of the screen corner.

!^f:: ; trigger with Ctrl+Alt+F WinSet, Style, -0xC40000, A ; removes windowing style WinMove, A, , 0, 28, 1280, 720 ; moves window position (X,Y Pos) and matches actual set window size. return

how can someone see the appeal in raiding the same place with a different slab of paint over and over when you can do the same in 100 other games that probably provide a better experience in massacring an entre base

Closer to 900 these days: it's not a hard thing to reach when you're letting the ACC idle in your bedroom while you keep your ears open for alert klaxons.

(I play FFXIV too: don't even wanna resub to find out how much time I lost there)
