as you know David Bowie has an album called Diamond Dogs, but the point was to use alternative, just like Venom was alternative to Big Boss

Hm, I didn't know Nirvana covered it too. Pretty good! I do think that David Bowie's original would have been good symbolically for the credits of mission 46, because it gave the message that we're our own man, not some copy.
Konami just didn't manage to get the rights for Bowie's version.
