It really is so freaking easy to fix. All they have to do is change the spawned entity from an "enemy" claymore to a friendly claymore, the green laser ones that spawn when you deploy to the field. Seriously how tough is that?
Then what? Luckily back away from the mine and hope the animation doesn't get you killed? And even if you survive, now you not only blocked off the enemy from moving through that area, but you blocked yourself as well. It's terrible design and needs fixing.
Why is it that fulton cannons don't trip? Puppy snares? Because this is a freaking game where soldiers can go invisible. A half naked sniper can jump dozens of feet and shoot a jet pilot in the head. A giant metal robot is piloted by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ psychic kid. You're really going to bring realism into this discussion?
All I want is the right thing for this VIDEOGAME to work as it should. Self tripping claymores and mines is about the dumbest thing in this game, even with all the above mentioned silliness. It makes mines completely ineffective at defending in FOBs, and also ruins movement in MGO.
Why would you EVER want this to stay as it is? Do you not want the best for this game's future? Seriously this is some unbelievable troll level of arguing broken game mechanics you guys are doing.
In terms of the mines killing you that is realistic.. Annoying? indeed but it's easy to place a mine down and BACK away from it seems you don't understand that after placing down the mine just aim and back up away from it you're trying to quickly turn which most of the time results in triggering the explosives
You seem to be missing the point that I understand >I< can back away from the mines. But what about my soldiers on my FOB? I have 0 control over them and where they move. Am I supposed to just watch them STUPIDLY walk into my mines and go "oh well! that's realism!" ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW?
This is the dumbest bunch of defense force replies I've ever read. Is there ANYONE with some sense out there who sees how stupid this is? How the mines should only trip by enemies?
The salt is real!!!
As for them in MGO well.. most of the mechanics items& the scripts they run on are ripped right from singleplayer, why CQC is a joke cause in singleplayer you can grab guards a few feet from you so this problem occurs in MGO.
I can't trigger friendly mines so it's fine
as for FOB, case is different, I assume no one in tests was "creative" enough to think that mines near core will work, it is pointless to place them there. As for my mine placement, I never noticed in logs that some guards triggered them and I get attacked a lot these days cause of all S++
