Need huge help for MGSV on Steam Deck [PROBLEM SOLVED]

For almost two weeks now, I'm encountering a big issue with Metal Gear Solid V on Steam Deck. It was also here in Ground Zeroes. Everytime that rains or a sandstorm happens in the game, the game crashes. Beside that, the game runs fine. It's the only issue that is ruining my experience with the game.

I did so many things : I've changed Proton version, I lowered settings, hell, I even lowered EVERY SETTINGS and EVEN LIKE THAT, it crashed.

I am hopeless. I don't know anymore how I can fix this. Everyone online says that the game runs perfectly for them, so it's frustrating to see that I feel cursed about this.

Please people, I need help for this. I want to enjoy the game at his best and this issue is ruining everything

UPDATE : I finally fixed my problem. I needed the game to run at 40fps so the GPU isn't used at more than 85-90%. When MGSV was using around 85% of the GPU (as I've seen in the performance overlay when playing during rains or sandstorm), it caused the game to crashed. I don't know why it's like that, but I'm glad I finally found a solution for this

So it used to work fine, then stopped working, seems to be only during particle effects related like during weather events, and no one else has this problem?

Hmm. My 1st guess is your shaders are bonked, or your shader cache got corrupted.

Go to (wherever Steam dirs are on Decks)/steamapps/shadercache/287700/ and delete it's contents, then just Verify Local Files, and start the game so it can re-create or re-download the pre-generated cache libraries, depending.

PS: just for general suggestions, being that it's an AMD Zen2 integrated meant to run on a teeny amount of wattage in a handheld, I would go with a Glorious Eggroll proton build, mostly because it's packager is a maniac,Tom is obsessed with getting AMD the respect and support under linux to match the level of Nvidias... when a regular proton build is good, a GE proton is (usually) better, especially for AMDs. I can't imagine Decks would be any different.

But also, Deck is Valve, who sponsored proton development so even wine itself is leaps and bounds ahead of where it was, pre-2017... there's no way they'd let a proton hit your Deck downloads that wasn't confirmed working for the hardware it was (essentially) created for!

Well, I just did what you told me. And it didn't work... Seems like it doesn't crash with sandstorm anymore. But it crashes with rains...

Hey, I think I actually found a way to fix it. But I need to test it more. Also just to tell you, it happens most of the time during the second time a sandstorm or a rain comes.

I have this issue ATM I know it's an old thread but how did you fix it?

I tried different proton versions , reducing res , reducing tdp, frame rate cap, increasing vram among others
