Will there ever be a Metal Gear Solid 6?
Or should we all just keep playing MGSV until we die

He was nearly sued for ripping off Escape From NY until John Carpenter intervened. That's a fact. Do your research, fanboy.
Wow, THAT CHANGES EVERYTHING! You literally disproved everything I said by saying an absolutely unrelated thing! And to make it more spicy, you decided to add some nice ad hominem! Brilliant job, dear sir or lady, brilliant job. Like, it was hard to make you look worse than you did, but you managed to do it somehow! Impressive indeed

Bruh. I give you an example as to why he's a hack, and you say it's "unrelated"? Nice try trying to derail a post that directly disproves your initial argument though.

Bruh.

I hope you realize that starting a sentence with Bruh makes you sound like an uneducated douchebag and thus everything that comes after bruh comes into question as to it's truthfulness and reliability.

Take that for what it's worth "bruh".

"Bruh" is a very stupid word altogether LOL

The engine was ready and there was content for the game already in 2012. Konami demanded an engine rewrite so it could scale for mobile as well, pushing the game back another 2 years for GZ's release.

So far Konami hasn't done anything with the engine they fought for, making it a mystery why they asked at all.

The engine was ready around 2010-2011. It was first being used for Metal Gear Solid:Rising .(Which got cancelled)

Unless they decided to scrap it during mgs v's production.

And from what I know, Fox engine doesn't support mobile platform. Konami always used Unreal for PES mobile.

We have to also bring the sales of Ground Zeroes into this. It was originally going to be released as a 40 dollars game but it became 30. (So they got much less money from it than what they anticipated)
And in the end, GZ sold like how many copies ? The last official claim was 1 million copies which might have not been good for that game.

Only way I can see this happening (where an actual good game is made) is if Konami outsourced development to another studio, sold the rights or something of the sort. The dream would be to have KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS get their hands on the rights but I doubt seriously that the stars will align for this, and even if they did have the opportunity they may want to continue on their new IPs anyway.

Solid Snake and Big Boss's stories are pretty much complete at this point. Metal Gear 1 & 2 remake would be neat I guess, although I hate developers constantly rehashing their old stuff instead of making new IPs. Other than that, what else is there to do?
If anything I'd like to see a sequel of MGRR. I really liked how MGR resolved his internal struggle with being a born and raised killer trying to make the world a better place, without falling to the ends-justify-the-means extremism of people like Solidus and Armstrong. It would be cool to see how his character evolves from that point, although at this point in the Metal Gear timeline there's a pretty dire lack of major villains/antagonists like the Patriots, Ocelot, Solidus, Armstrong, etc. Man, I wish MGR was canon :(

I'd buy a remake of MG1&2 because 1) I don't have an MSX 2) The systems I can still play HD collection [and other versions] are failing or obsolete collector's items at this point. You see, I make disposable income choices on my hobbies regardless of what a vocal minority of the community spews on every single social media forum and thread they can find.

MGR has become popular via memes and has a very high rating on steam. I predict a sequel would do very well.

There's this strange effect where as a franchise just starts hitting pop culture, its existing titles still don't necessarily start taking off in sales, but the NEXT game in the series goes massive on sales. I would bet money that a sequel to MGR will go hard as a result of what has happened around the game lately. There will be tons of articles about it and people will pay attention, and it will sell well. But the problem is that Kojima needs to be involved, so either have him and some of his team do a partnership with Konami, or Kojima can just buy the rights to Metal Gear in its entirety. Either way, a MGR sequel is 100% the smartest next move besides the remakes. MGS4 being released on any modern platform is also high on the list.

It's worth noting that Konami doesn't hate games because they aren't profitable, Konami hates games because they aren't AS profitable as pachinko, their main business.

Metal gear and silent hill were their side gigs in the mid 20s. Afterthoughts now.

They have an entire slot machine empire as well that seems to never be talked about in relation to Konami. Go in any casino and half the machines are made by Konami.

Unfortunately, I don't see any possible MGS 6 sequels as for now and perhaps in the future. Firstly, gaming industry has shifted into mobile (just like Konami's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ e-Football 2023) since the market is bigger there. Secondly, console gaming is getting more expensive compared to mobile gaming due to development issues too. Third, I believe that game creators this day prefer to remake old games especially with the success of Resident Evil 2 Remake and currently the RE 4 remake; if gaming creators wish to make more sequels, then it'll have to sacrifice other games' development too.

Silent Hill used to have the Pachinko Machines version, if I have to recall
