METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
David Hayter "I will do MGS 6 if Konami asks me"
David Hayter said in an interview with Game informer, That if Konami asks him to do Snake's voice for the next MGS game, then he will do it.

He also had harsh things to say about Kojima in that interview. probably trying to get an Konami's good side. Of course Hayter has his own reason to not liking Kojima.

In my opinion i think we have a good chance of hearing Hayter's voice as Snake again. As long he doesn't ask for a lot of money then sure Konami will hire him for the role.

Plus i don't think that Hayter wants to do it for the money. i think he wants to do it as a F you to Kojima.

Personally i hope that happens. i have nothing against Kojima. i'm just looking forward to all the drama when that happens LOL

Guys feel free to share your opinions.

I'll take Sutherland over Hayter any day of the week but that's coming from a guy who isn't driven purely by nostalgia. One's a voice actor and the other is just a campy novelty.

Hayter talks like the entitled teenager and at this point I'd accept Steve Buscemi as MGS 6's snake just to spite him.
This. Also I liked Kiefer more.
just by supporting MGS without Kojima he said more than with all the words he used

Hayter isin't that good of a voice actor. Iconic, yes but not talented. A lot of his dialogue delivery can be laaughed at simply from taking the line out of context or such.
But Hayter needs to talk that way, it's a japanese game. his delivery has to be corny and cartoonie. Even MGS5. a lot of the dialogue was still very corny and very japanese. hell most of the characters in MGS looked cartoonie like in any japanese game.

In my opinion Hayter delivery would worked in MGS5. but Kojima had to stroke his ego by hiring a hollywood actor. Kris zimmerman the voice director of the MGS series said the kojima was lusting for a hollywood actor to voice his games for a long time. he even asked kurt russell to voice in MGS 3.

Kojima finally got Konami to write the big check needed to hire a hollywood actor in MGS V, So poor Hayter lost his job LOL

No he's a sour voice actor that got replaced by a better actor he needs to grow up.
+1
Hayter could handle young snake or old snake pretty well, but something in between it's just goofy as ****,. anyone both played Jp and Eng version of PW knows how much of a greater job Akio Ootsuka did than Hayter. Hayter's voice lacks the manliness or badassness that of the legendary bigboss in his 40s

At least he realizes that Konami is not the only prick on the whole drama.
Ya it seems highly likely Konami is done with MG

Kiefer Sutherland phoned it in and, worse, he barely got to talk at all. It made the dialogue pretty damn awkward and unrealistic. Well, I wouldn't even call it dialogue. Dialogue is between two or more people. Snake was just talked to. Made him seem like a tool. MGSV isn't part of the timeline in my mind. It's fun at times, but I think it hurts the series and the character, one of the reasons being that Big Boss has been voiced by three different actors with distinctive voices and ways of speaking. It shatters my suspension of disbelief. Big Boss never should have been voiced by David Hayter. He should have been voiced by the actor who voiced Solidus Snake, since Solidus is his perfect clone. In MGS3, it felt like they were trying to make him like the Snake everybody knew and loved. He even spoke some of the same lines in MGS3. He should have had more his own identity instead of living off Solid Snake's popularity.

If they did make another MGS, I really really really wish they'd make a new main character. Big Boss has been ruined enough and Solid Snake's story is over. It should be someone unique from them.

Let's face it, Hayter, while iconic as Snake, tended to come off as a tad cartoony at times. You'd think he'd understand how the business in general works seeing as he's been in, and written/directed for movies.

Methinks Hayter has eaten one too many sour grapes. I found Sutherland's voice a nice change of pace and it reflected Snake's descent into losing his humanity/soul. And it reflected the character well. Hayter just needs to let it go. As a professional/talent, he needs to accept that it happened and move on. But to be fair, the gaming media keeps poking him about it. You really don't see/hear any of the other past MGS talent whining about it. They have all moved on with their lives and to other projects/hobbies.

But like another poster said(paraphrashing here), Kojima had always wanted a movie actor to do the voice for so long, but they would either turn it down, or Konami just wasn't willing to pony up the money at the time. When MGS first dropped, Konami wasn't too keen on it and thought it'd be a massive dud(they said the same thing of the original MG on the MSX and told Kojima to do a *snicker* REAL game(they wanted to be like everyone else at the time)) Kiefer has done VA in a few other games as well. The 24 game if I recall, and the excellent COD:WaW(a very underrated game)

But on the whole I agree with you. Hayter is acting like an angsty teen.

tl;dr: Hayter needs to let it go.
God please NO! His voice sucks ♥♥♥... I prefer a manly BB/V with Kiefer's voice instead a grumpy/silly pirate like Hayter's voice.
But sadly I think Konami gonna hire Hayter because he is more cheap than a quality voice actor.
even his voice is cheesy but he IS the snake we all love and known for so long ,through out the whole series, what kojima did was ungrateful, even he wants a big shot star to replace the fake snake he could have let hayter did the real snake's voice.
I really liked Sutherland for Big Boss. But as Solid Snake, if they somehow get him in the next game, Hayter is the only voice for him.
Maybe actually both Hayter and Sutherland sucked and we don't need any more MGS games.
Seriously MGSV was suppose to be the last MGS game... just let the series die and move on. We constantly heard that with interviews and with the trailers. In fact, they said the same thing with MGS4. The series just needs to die already, every game from hear on out is just milking the franchise.

Reminds me of Halo. Halo's story should of ended with Halo 3. You finished the fight. It's over, time to move on.
