METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Should I play Ground Zero before starting The Phantom Pain?
The Phantom Pain's gonna be my first game in the series (Used to play the first one a lot but i don't really remember the story), and my friends already told me that I don't have to play Ground Zero in order to understand the story.
But my question is: Is Ground Zero worth playing? Like, is it a good game?
And it's not about if the game's worth the money, cuz i already got it for free.

it's a prequel, everything that happens in TPP is consequence of GZ

k, thanks for the answer, but is the game itself worth playing or am I better off just reading the story on the internet and jump right to TPP?

If you allready got the game for free no less (Ground Zero), YES ABSOLUTLY!

Atleast the Main story, Only takes anything from 30 min to 2h depending on how you play, And it unlocks some small benifits in the main game.

The Extra missions you get after compleating the story in Zero you can safely skip if you want, They contain Optional missions with some teasers towards the main game.

The thing is, the plot in Ground zero will get Spoiled for you during MGSV PP, as it picks up where Zero left it. And there will be a Backflash to Zero during the game that will ruin the ending.

So IMHO, it's worth the houer of play eaven with a slightly less user friendly UI if you want to follow the plot from beginning to end.

Ground Zeroes is fun to 100% honestly (up until the trials) and I absolutely loved it. The special missions Jamais Vu and Deja Vu are both really fantastic missions as well (Deja Vu is fanservice if you played the first one). Ground Zeroes is also a more punishing then TPP which I think is a good thing. Overall I recommend it because it is really short, but it is also still fun.

GZ's story you can just look it up on Youtube as it only have around 2 hours of main mission. Gameplay is similar to TPP, you get to learn the control in a small map before you go into a big world of TPP. And you get Side Ops and Extra Ops which is fun.

Actually it is :p, Both Zero And the beginning of PP is wery cutcene, and lore heavy not to mention wery linear. Depenting on how much you like that stuff you might either love it or hate it ;)

For many people it might feel like a way to long Toturial.
