HELP! i cannot progress through the story.

help i cannot progress through the story i am currently at chapter 2 and the last ''real'' mission i did was proxy war without end. I did not do any extreme missions because they where to difficult . I know i have to do side ops to unlock ''real'' missions. It worked for me in the past but i have done about 10 side ops and still not unlocked the next ''real'' mission. Please help. Thanks in advance!

Mission 32 To Know Too Much
Mission 38 Extraordinary
Mission 41 Proxy War Without End
Mission 43 Shining Lights, Even In Death
- Complete postgame Side Ops Story Missions
Side Op - Extract the AI Pod
Side Op - Secure the Remains of the Man on Fire
Side Op - Search for the Escaped Children 1
Side Op - Search for the Escaped Children 2
Side Op - Search for the Escaped Children 3
Side Op - Search for the Escaped Children 4
Side Op - Search for the Escaped Children 5
- Listen to all story audio/cassette recordings (they are yellow in color)
- Upgrade entire base, and platform to level 3 or higher.

hello thanks for the response! but i have completed mission 41 didn't get mission 43 and i did all the important side ops(ai pod, man on fire, all children missions) plus like 11 more normal side ops. I did not listen to all of the yellow audio recordings and did not upgrade the entire base.

you've got to complete all uncompleted missions to unlock more missions

do i realy have to do all of the extreme missions because if that is the case then i dont think i can finish the game.

Apart from Extreme Sahelanthropus, most of them can have the fight parts completely ignored.
Backup Back Down : extract/destroy a single vehicle and wait.
Code Talker : kill 3 out of 4 skulls before reaching Code Talker, then go for old man.
"yellow cake" : wait for the convoy to be on the road outside of the airport, then trigger the skulls fight but bait them away from the truck and escape with it.

P.S. : are you PyroCynical as well ?

You don't need to do these missions to finish the game.

i think i have solved my problem i triggerd a cutsene and now i have a story mission.

For anybody still wondering, in order to unlock mission 43 you need to beat all previous missions - no exceptions, even the hard ones. Alternately, 3 side ops equal 1 mission and some missions have an unlock requirement of 2 or more missions(6 or more side ops accordingly).

Would the OP care to explain if he completed any hard/extreme missions?

I didn't beat the hard missions till after 46. You can skip those when going through the story.

I didn't beat the hard missions till after 46. You can skip those when going through the story.
