METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

FOB security team and their weapons?
Hey,
I would like to know what weapons my FOB security team use in lethal and non-lethal settings (Short/Mid/Long). I'm pretty sure they have 2 sets of weapons for each distance setting?

Lethal:
Short - SMG/Sheld ?
Mid - Shotgun / ?
Long - Sniper rifle / ?
Granades

Non-lethal settings i guess is the same but the non-lethal versions and their use 'sleep granades'.

short is shotgun/shield
mid is assault rifles, machine guns and killer bee
long is well, sniper rifles

smg is used on all settings

Ah nice one bud, so non-lethal is - SNiper rifles / SMG / sleep granades.

it depends on what you have developed of highest grade and what grade are your settings. for example mid-range can use assault rifles + shields if you haven't developed LMG or Killer Bee and if you have they use LMG or Killer Bee instead of shield.

well atm i have all my security team set to 'long range - non lethal and all my green weapons are rank 5+. my sniper is rank 7 atm

NL security uses stun grenades, everything else is the same but only NL with exception of machine guns cause Konami didn't introduce those yet, but will do.

Sleep rocket launcher is introduced only for security, I mean you can equip it and use it but it makes no sense to use it cause sleep hand grenades have much better radius and you can equip any better back weapon

atm long range security is inferior due to high grade battle dress, grade 7 sniper doesn't do much harm to it
Short- Shotguns, Shield, SMGs.
Mid - Machineguns, Assault Rifles, Launchers.
Long - Sniper Rifles, Assault Rifles.

Weapons used :
Lethal - ZE'EV, S1000/KABARGA-83, AM MRS-4R, M2000-D/AM MRS-71 RIFLE, ALM-48, KILLER BEE, PB SHIELD, HAND GRENADE.
Non-lethal - RIOT SMG, S1000 AIR-S, UN-ARC-NL, RENOV-ICKX TP/AM MRS-73 NL, FB MR R-L NLSP. , PB SHIELD, STUN GRENADE.

I never notice any SMG in Long Range security though.

yer makes sense, i thought this as well but when i looked at best setup for FOB ppl where saying long range non-lethal was preety good and it stopped hackers but your right about the battle dress.

I dunno what would you peeps suggest is a good FOB setup for each platform?

those posts are old, right now Konami balanced that by introducing grade 9 assault rifle and machine gun, those things are much more useful on the alert

sniper security tends to stay back, there is probably a bit more chance to spot a noob with that security but once alert is triggered you can run across at least one platform before all snipers grab their positions - they are just too campy and they pretty much leave you alone once you trigger combat alert

important thing on defense is to develop grade 8 mines and grade 9 grenades, also fast UAV's can surprise people

Ah ok, cheers for clearing that up for me bud. What sort of setup would you choose for each platfrom. (short/med/long)

Combat -
R&D -
Base -
Support -
Intel -
Medical -

Sorry for all the questions, only got the game couple weeks ago and still learning. Want to be best prepared because every time my FOB gets invaded they seem to rip though my defense, haha.
MY FOB's security lvls are :
FOB 1 - 4/4 all platforms - lvl 45 - S rank soldiers
FOB 2 - 3/3 all platforms - lvl35 - S rank soldiers

i have read that the differance between A++ and S are preey big so i stuck with S rank.

I use medium on all platforms, customize your zones to mess up with people and develop stuff to place custom mines and cameras to make traps

Can anybody explain why when I set it to Non-Lethal and Long-Range it says I need to develop a non-lethal Assault rifle UN-ARC-NL? I have non-lethal Renov sniper rifle developed and it says it's equippable by security team staff, why don't they use it?

NL snipers are the worst possible choice. Because snipers keep their distance and even when they manage to put target to sleep it is less likely someone will be there to fulton it.
Had lots of laughs on those FOB's, please don't use that
