For one, all your online resources including GMP are still going to be available once you get to Afghanistan. (That is assuming you weren't one of those paranoid types who unplugged your router whenever the game starts.)
Secondly, and I regret this for not internalizing this myself in my first playtrhoguh, your GMP exists to be used and a single basic side-op can pay for all but the most needlessly expensive deployment. (Which tend to be pretty crap loadouts anyway.)

I think it's better to explain the problem you have doesn't actually exist though.
Even if it doesnt, it's still worth having imo, adds a lot of replayability
