Did Huey know?
Most of the time huey is blamed for the attack on MB before the coma but when they interrogate him with truth serum he says he didn't know.

Yes whatshisface said he must have undergone gene therapy but I thought that what was being said is that he IS telling the truth and that whatshisface refuses to believe it.

he even lies himself, contradicts his own words so probably yes, but he is such a sissy he even believes his own lies

Well, that's up for interpretation.

To be honest, I don't think he did know.
Back in Ground Zeroes, he sounded really sincere. And besides, what reason would he have to betray MSF?
He had everything he wanted there (being able to develop his robots AND stay with Strangelove), he had absolutely no reason to betray Big Boss, even if he didn't agree with Big Boss putting a nuke on Zeke, he would know better that Skullface, or any enemy of Big Boss, would do worse with his creations.

I think Huey's downfall was after Skullface kidnapped him. Eventually Skullface convinced him to work for him voluntarily instead of forced (probably because Huey loved the idea to make an upright walking robot) and that's how things started getting messy.

I also believe at some point Strangelove started opposing to Huey's idea (specially because he was making Hal pilot the robot) which caused Huey to kill her. In Huey's messed up mind, his robot's are more important than his kid and wife.

Anyways, later when Big Boss returned, Huey knew he was playing to the wrong team and had to find a way to go back to the winning side.
I think if he hadn't lost his mind working for Skullface and killed Strangelove, eventually Diamond Dogs would come to trust him. But alas, lying about all the messed up ♥♥♥♥ he did for Skullface didn't really help his case.

Well, it's the tale of the boy who cried wolf. You lie about stuff, nobody will believe you even when you're telling the truth.

That's also true... Huey started believing his own lies... that's probably a way to cope with all his traumas...
But that being the case, there's no way to know what of what he said is true and what isn't in Phantom Pain.
The only time we might be able to tell if he was telling the truth or not would be before Skullface's attack on MSF, in Ground Zeroes.

And back then, he sounded really sincere. I even played the thing again after beating phantom pain to see if I noticed anything different.

Besides, the whole game is about people believing their own lies... Doublethink, as Ocelot explains in the final tapes.

if he killed Dr. Strangelove he showed that he is capable of doing nasty things just to watch his own @ss, he used Venom to escape from Skull Face cause his time was about to come, he was useless to Skull Face..

Just like when Skull Face was about to attack Big Boss in GZ, Huey saw that he needed to switch sides to survive. BB had a nuke and heat was way up, he saw a chance and took it.

he was far from MVP on Big Boss's base, and he is the only one who is kept captive

Later in the game it's revealed he was having talks with Cipher so he could bargain his safety with a new parasite, so what you think?

Well.. he may have done so because he was not treated the same way as before to ensure his own safety, since Ocelot and the few others in contact with him at mother base were so kind to him.
Still, that made him a contract with the devil. He surely knew when he contacted Cipher that would be his definitive end at Mother Base.

I think I follow Sekkuar666 opinion on Huey. I believed until the end that Huey would have been proven innocent by something that we did not realise (like in any movie) and actually suspected Code Talker pinning the mother base infection on him :
Quiet was made into contact with the Boss, then Code Talker to see why she did not accomplished her objective.

Once the murder of Strangelove was "proven", considering his reaction, it was easy to figure Huey was doing a lot of wrong.

Huey is nobody's dummy. When XOF came to destroy motherbase in GZ, he figured he could leverage his knowledge with Skullface to survive. But whether he knew, well, does that mean that he called XOF in to destroy motherbase? Is he really the traitor Miller claims him to be? Do you think Huey would want to destroy motherbase just so he could work with Skullface or Cipher? Maybe.

Miller blames him for the attack because he thinks Huey's actions caused the destruction of motherbase. Maybe Huey purposefully caused the XOF attack on motherbase. Miller is definitely too paranoid and too damaged too forgive and forget. He wants a scapegoat and that scapegoat is Huey.

But maybe Miller is right.
