battle dress *9 vs sneaking suit *9
which one is best for going lethal? it doesn't say anymore how much defense it gives, just "defense up". anyone maybe did some testing with both?

battle dress give you more defense than sneaking suit, so if you're going lethal choose battle dress.

there's a guy 'Amini' I think on youtube, he made a video comparing the armor of all the grades of the battle dress and sneaking suits. he found that battle dress offers greater protection than sneaking suit but that Grades 7 & 8 of battledress and sneaking suit offer the same protection!! There's no difference! But at least, Grade 9 is still superior.

interesting, same grade battle dress in description says it's "defense up + 2" comparing to sneaking suit up to grade 8. i saw some "FOB massacre" videos of "bugjuice" on youtube. and he was first going lethal with battle dress, but then he continued with sneaking suit and i believe there was a comment(s) "best *9 suit", so it raised this question.

sneaking suit muffles footsteps, makes you invisilble to nvg guards, and at Grade 9 offers really good protection anyway, so i can see why a comment would claim it as "best *9 suit." and it looks cool too.

BDUs ftw!

Personally I prefere BDU because you get a bonus for using it instead of armor and it makes everything more challenging (which is fun for me).

well yeah, you have a good point, if you are able to go lethal and still remain stealth.

for now, i really like the idea of going lethal and stealing nukes, so i'm wondering in which units i should invest time to meat requirements.

vs grade 10 security it is not challenging, once you are spotted you are dead.

really depends on situation, I hunt nukes and Battle Dress is my choice since I meet defenders quite often and I need to take some risks in order to make it there on time, stealth is not really a priority.

Sneaking Suit is more all-rounder, worse defense but you got regeneration and quiet steps (not really something you can benefit from). ofc NVG proof works fine, also vs defenders.

Battle dress takes 2 shots from s1000 which is very common weapon used by pretty much everyone into FOB's, so that's a plus.

so, conclusion,
if there is very high chance that defender will show up pretty early on I'd take Battle Dress (Security challenge, nukes) cause most likely you'll have to fight your way trough

Sneaking Suit is for mediocre chance that you will meat someone and fatigues are for fast stealth runners, and those who abuse frog jump and call it skill, cause you know, mashing 3 buttons very fast is skill

BDUs are the best and my personal favorite. but you've gotta be really, really good to get nukes with BDUs. so for stealing nukes i go battle dress + pb shield for maximum protection. i usually don't like to go rambo but if i did, i'd want battle dress.

it is not the question of good and bad, once you step on the base defender gets notification so... yeah, he comes with anything grade 7+ and you are toasted, and if you wait like you should do in BDU, take your time and find best approach he will fulton nukes to safety.....

I never use shield, NL semi auto sniper on the back with sleep grenade under barrel, helps a lot on combat alert cause you can neutralize multiple targets very fast, not like hand sleep grenade and you have sniper rifle

The shield is good to have on your back because it saves you from shots to the back as you run like a madman to the nuke to extract it and then finally embrace death.

I prefer fighting my way trough with weapons and completing the mission after I fulton nukes

I prefer it stealthy in the first place but sometimes it just won't do

also is it better to take S++ combat staff member with "tough guy" skill, as it both, S++ and his skill should make him more resistant to damage? i mean, snake/avatar gets this skill amongst all others as you upgrade his arm. so i guess, it comes to S++ vs A++. does it make any noticeable difference in absorbing more punishment?

Snake gets prosthetic boosts that make him better than A++, his abilities are like that cause of special bonuses given to those with S+ or higher skills (like auto-mark cameras/uav's with intel/bd skills)

so with that bonuses Venom feels like he is S+ all-rounder, S++ soldiers feel like they can take more beating, feel faster, especially like this

That depends on your version of "lethal" are we talking stealthy lethal or loud and proud lethal? If you pick enemies off from a distance with a supressed sniper rifle from behind cover and then slink away afterwards then the sneaking suit is the route you should take. If you like seeing the whites in their eyes as you unload a shotgun into their torso then the battle dress is likely up your alley.
Sneaking Suit Benefit: Cannot be seen with thermal goggles
Battle Dress Benefit: Become a walking A1 Abrams Tank
Sneaking Suit Drawback: Can be killed a lot quicker (especially if you confront a defending FOB player whose equipped with the battle dress, you will not survive a direct 1 on 1 fight)
Battle Dress Drawback: Spotted easily and you're a large a** target

Battle Dress doesn't really have too bad camo values, you can still stealth the high security FOB if you are experienced

i just remembered, when i was fairly new to FOB's and i tried to infiltrate *9 non-lethal FOB i was welcomed with "pleasant" surprise that *7 S1000 can't no longer one-shot them, you needed two and they waked up afterwards way faster. i don't know if anything changed by now, since it was, i think, at least couple months back. but that would mean that *9 suits "defense up" could actually be the same?
