What the hell is going on?

I'm doing the worst think a player could have ever done, playing mgsv phantom pain without playing any other mgs games. First few minutes in and I'm already confused, I am an idiot for not playing other MGS games but I just can't be bothered. I looked for videos that tell the story so I get a better understanding of the game but they are just too long. A flying flamey ♥♥♥♥♥, huge nazi zombie on fire, a whole world chasing big boss, can someone just explain in a few words, what is happening? I don't care if you spoil any MGS game (except phantom pain) but I am now too desperate to know what is happening.

I thought this was only an open world sneaking game....

You should have played Ground Zeroes (or at least watch someone playing on youtube, it is only like 30 minutes long) before since it is like a prologue to this game.

Play the game from the beginning zam.

Play the other MGS games, they have MUCH better stories, and you won't understand parts of this game without prior knowledge of the series.

Okay so which one should I start first to understand the whole story (And please don't tell me Metal Gear Solid 1, I'm not in a mood for nostalgia)

MGS3, but if You want to know the whole story, You should really start from the beginning. There's a story of Liquid, story of Psycho Mantis, Les enfans terribles. IMO You should start from 1st part :)

Dude. The story unfolds along ALL the games.

To be able to FULLY understand this game and its "climax" that happens in MGS:V, you cant understand who, what, why, and when all happened. Its just too hard if you dont go trough all the videos.

If youre too "bored" To go trough it (as in not interested) then im pretty sure the game isnt for you.

for me, the story is the only game where in the end of saga "MGS:4" is the only game i actually cried at.

MGS:V is just a filler in between Metal gear solid 3: Snake eater and Metal Gear Solid (The first game)

Otherwise, you dont even fully comprehend who "venom snake" Truly is and why is he doing what hes doing in this game.
