METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

How long is the first mission? ZZZZZzzzzz
Oh wow, about to fall asleep doing this. I got this game on release day and finally had the chance to play it. I know it's supposed to be pretty good once you get into it, but this hospital thing is a borefest. How long does this part last? Just wondering because I want to get through it and I'm wondering if I need to take out a bit of time to actually get to something more interesting. Right now I'm in the room with the small sections with currents on both sides and a path down the middle.

Probably the time it took you to come here and type that.

The opening has the longest cutscenes in the entire game. After the first two hours, that's it, the game opens up and you're basically free.
I would say this game isn't for you if you can't handle the hospital but to be honest the hospital is the most story you'll get through the game at one time so prepare for gameplay heavy experience

Thanks for those who gave an honest response. Might work on it a bit here soon. I'm really surprised they started it like that, but I' sure I'm not saying anything anybody doesn't know already. Hope it's as awesome as people say afterwards. :-)

Some people prefer that linear section than the open world. And why are you surprised? You wanted them to start in the open world and then change it to a linear the whole game? This is the way, a nice slow paced linear presentation to show the player what they'll encounter in this game and then it will flesh out into the open world. It makes total sense they did this and if you follow the game since the start you would've know this by now.

It's mostly cutscene. Sorry, you may like it but it's boring to me. That's why I'm looking forward to it picking up. I know some peeps are more into stories, but I like the gaming aspect of it and don't really care for the extra fluff. That's why I wanted to find out how much time I would have to commit to finishing this up.

I don't know if he can go that fast, but he sure is lucky. All those people getting hit by bullets and torched, but somehow he manages to escape it all. I guess when you're that lucky, you don't need to be fast.

You can always just skip the cutscenes for now and come back later and replay the mission to know what's going on.
