Angel with broken wings mission confusing me

Once I arrive where he is, they keep driving off with him and I keep getting messages saying that the prisoner has died. What's going on? I haven't alerted them and I've been playing the mission 3-4 mins.

Maybe there are more prisoners that were already going to be executed if you don't save them fast.

When you start the mission, the palace contains three additional prisoners that will be killed if you don't deal with their guards in time. It's slightly tricky to do if you're going for stealth, but can be done quietly.

You only have to rescue one prisoner in that mission it doesn't matter
