Not to increase the flames of internet arguing but calling something horrible is the worst way to call something fact. Unless you are one of those types who has the magical ability to turn opinion into fact.
If i am to compare it to other MGS's. This is my favorite, so it did not fail.
MGS3 being after this.
I can agree with this..
I thought the characters we're AMAZING....
(This is my very 1st Metal gear game since the very 1st metal gear on NES or SNES. I forget.
BUt I thought Ocelot is so awesome and the voices,,personalities and look and overall demeanor of All the characters were awesome.. BUT they weren't used well at all...
**This whole thing with the 'Medic' is just lame borderline mental.
the thought " TOO CLEVER' comes to mind..The charcters and organizations are supposed to be PMF(Plotting MoFo's) Not the actual comprehension of the story...
-Once I got the whole story down= I was pretty annoyed and had a feeling of letdown..
--WTF! a UN Nuclear inspection team arrives for the most sensitive possible infiltration to motherbase and Snake is in Cuba...!!! Umm!!
-And Skullface was just hoping(fingers crossed) that Zero pricked himself on the pin..this seems like a mediocre method..I guess it all worked out for him..
-And why did Psyco Mantis turn on Skull face..Was Pscyco Mantis even working with Skull Face
.Psyco Mantis was at the hospital when BB/medic awoke from Coma and attacked the XOF..
I assume it was SkullFace XOF.
~~But this is my 1st Metal Gear Solid so I think this kind of Story is the norm..I have seen a lot of the story of The PS3 MGS Guns of Patriots..Man, I bought that on sale and never played it..
0Am I missing something special, or just let it go?
----So bottom line~ If Hidio didn't develop/create the missions, development, mother base upgrading, the FOB,,The tier 1-9 weapons and gear,,pretty much all the RPG parts we love about this game like kidnapping instead of killing to improve MB..if None of this is Hideo then I've been wrongfully backing him this whole time...
It still sickens me what the Sony Rep told a friend of mine who manages a gamestop about Konami 'SHAMING' Hideo and taking ti to questionable levels like taking away his desk and office etc....
**Disclaimer- I love this game and I'm well over 700-800 hours..destroying my record of longest non MMO gaming record. Formely held by Fallout Vegas..Oblivion and Vegas were only like 150 hours,,peanuts compaired to this..i still rank the game as elite!
With everything said and done, I love MGSV. However, I wouldn't place it anywhere near my top list of MGS games. MGSV, for all it does right, does a ton wrong for someone who had great expectations going into it. Really and truly, the series should have ended with MGS3, maybe Peace Walker if I stretch things. MGS4 onwards seems like an afterthought - and for good reason, Kojima has been wanting to end the franchise for decades now, with each game designed to be the last one, with the only exceptions being MGS3 and Peace Walker.
I do think the OP is being a bit rediculous, though. Kojima definitely didn't deserve what he got - he put his heart and soul into each game up until MGSV, and even if they weren't masterpieces (MGS4's story in particular seemed to really scream "I want this series to end"), they still had a feel to them that MGSV is just... lacking. Peace Walker, which I consider to be a better-yet-worse version of MGSV, is probably the better game story-wise, and if you can get past the not-yet-complete gameplay (which is pretty much just a lesser version of MGSV's gameplay), I'd recommend playing that over MGSV if you ever decide to do a chronological run-through of the series (not to mention that, excluding Peace Walker's 5th Chapter, it's a much shorter game).
