MGO3 and FOB in 2022?

Hi, I'm sorry if this already been asked. I'm interest to play this game with my friend and wants to know the state of online side of the game. Is MGO3 still alive? Is FOB also still alive? What's the difference between those two? Is the game worth it in 2022? Thanks!

As shown in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y796ZwI7iHU there are many cheaters in this game. This guy literally hackusates people, threatens/harrasses them then will talk ♥♥♥♥ on his 1 viewer twitch about it for hours. I baited him into proving he hacks and it's funny as hell but yeah, there's alot of annoying hacks like this around.

FOB is still alive, but also full of cheaters as again, hacks a plenty. But I think the FOB thing is less important and tends to have a lot less interaction from them. The key difference is MGO3 is like a "CoD" style real time PvP mode where as FOB is usually something you face when people're offline (As it's a base-defence/attack minigame where if the other person is online they can come in to defend their base). It really depends on whether you plan to get invested in this game and can handle lobbies having very salty, very childish hackers in them

OP, just look at poor Alyx. This is the state of online. Cheating, not cheating but accused of cheating, whatever no one really cares at Konami. It's the wild wild west, no mods no anti-cheat no nothing... the only thing Konami cares about you hacking is things that will affect MB Coin sales. Don't cheat the online timers or try to give yourself free MB coins, and beyond that? You want to insta-stun the whole base? You want to teleport to the core... go right ahead.

Do not buy it just for the online aspect, if you and your friend don't think you'll like the single player, because it's pretty sparse on content overall. We play it because it's the last MGS and it's fun for MGS fans, but as a general purpose multiplayer shooter, you should pick something else.

the fob's online is active if you raid active player's bases , at first due to low espionage points you get the option to infiltrate level 70 fobs and quickly get to make enemies or support them. Later on that option is removed and now you can either go rambo on the abandoned fobs or support them to retaliate against other players who raided them on combat alert. Then again you support them and their allies for maximum player engagement. Any questions?

theres some players on MGO 3 almost every day, but its one lobby and game mode. FOBs are raiding player bases like in clash of clans, or defending them/yours
