Fix Black Screen After Prologue
I've been searching for a solution for this for some time and none seem to help. The game shows "Chapter 1 Revenge" and then goes and stays black. Some said to get a codec pack other said that this is a problem with pirated games. I've tried the codec pack and I have a legitimate (steam) copy, so both didn't work. But now I have found the solution that worked for me. Some people have the Windows 10 N edition, like me. This is a Windows 10 edition without all the media crap like Windows Media Player. So far this has caused me nothing but problems, ranging from not being able to successfully install updates or properly using apps, like Adobe Premiere. I went on a hunch and thought this might be causing the same problems in MGSV TPP. I was right. The thing you need to install if you have that specific version of Windows 10 is the Media Feature Pack. This can be found here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/mediafeaturepack . Or just search for Windows 10 Media Feature Pack. Download and install that update and the cutscene should play as normal.

I've compiled a list of glitch fixes for those that can't get either MGSV or MGO running properly... Hopefully one of these solutions will work for you! (Solution 5 fixes most people's problems it seems)

Solution 1: If you only have problems with Metal Gear Online not loading, try this: when you start the game and change to MGO, before the windows auto-fullscreen triggers, MINIMIZE it. Or if you were late, press the Windows button to be on the Desktop until the audio game, starts to play.

Solution 2: If you have an Xbox 360 controller plugged in, stop using it and uninstall the drivers for it in control panel.(I prefer mouse+keyboard anyway)

Solution 3: I have found a fix that works for NVIDIA users, so not sure if this fix is for all but good luck. Open Geforce Experience and click on the Share button at the top, click on the gear icon on the bottom right which is the settings button, scroll all the way down and click on Privacy Control, disable that option so it says NO, now simply leave the display and start your game.

Solution 4: Navigate to your MGSV installation folder, installation path should look something like this:
X:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\MGS_TPP
(X being your hard drive)
Find "mgsvtpp.exe" > Right Click > Properties > Compatibilty
Under "Privilege Level" check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator" then click Apply.
Done!

Solution 5: Go to Windows/System32 and SysWOW64 - find MSVCP110 and MSVCR110.dlls in each of them and back up/delete them. Reinstall VC x64(or x86, whichever your system requires)
Here's the link to VC: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679

Solution 6: If that still doesn't solve it, download the application "Dependency Walker". When you access the game's .exe with it, the top left panel will indicate any .dlls it's dependent on. Any that aren't correct in any way have their icon highlighted in red. Find those items in their respective folders, move/delete them, then replace them with the correct installers from Microsoft.

The dlls that need to be replaced if you try that method are most likely these ones:
(replace the 64bit dlls with 32bit ones)
mfc100.dll
mfc100u.dll
mscvcp100.dll
mscvcr100.dll
msvcr100_clr0400.dll
xinput1_3.dll
What's ih I'm having the same problem
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
