METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Are there any other infiltration games besides MGS5 that will help me scratch the itch?
After 400 hours over 6 years... I feel like I've seen everything. The modding scene is revitalizing, but I don't have too high of hopes for it thriving now that players have dropped off so much. This game might still be around for a year or two more and... after the servers shut down and the boys pack up, what will I transition to?

This game really is one of a kind, even most splinter cell games don't match up.
But you can still play the game without the servers, sadly anyone only interested in FOBs or MGO will move on, but who cares otherwise.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts gave me some MGSV vibes
But the quality of the game may seem questionable

I don't know if you like stealth games that aren't quite revolving around modern warfare, but you can try Dishonored franchise, it's still quite a good stealth game, especially Dishonored 2.

I did play those games. They are pretty good, but I do want a modern theme. I play multiplayer objective based shooters sometimes like stealth games. Games such as Arma and Insurgency. I guess I have options, but MGS5 not living up to its potential is just seriously a bummer

I just don't like that you only buy membership for the PS Now and basically stream the games, not actually buying, downloading and playing them.
I prefer having them in ny collection forever, but anything is better than nothing.

Look up some YT videos of Ghost Recon Wildlands or Ghost Recon Breakpoint.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint has had a deservedly middling to bad reputation but they ripoff shinkawas artstyle, mobile tank mechs and the majority of plot from the original metal gear. There is a mode where you can remove the ludicrous lootbox treadmill and it's not bad at all, especially on sale.

I'd highly recommend Arma 3. It's the closest game to MGSV I've played on PC. The stealth isn't so great against AI, but I believe it can be customized to be similar to MGSV. The maps are also enormous, and the coop servers are highly enjoyable. Great game to roleplay as Snake.

Do you have to create another account to play it, though?

Nope, only steam account. I'd also wait until it's on sale, along with all the DLC. They have pretty big discounts on Arma 3 from time to time. Keep in mind, there's quite a steep learning curve if you're new to games like Arma. But once you get the hang of it, it's a great game.

I've played twice that game as MGS5. I love that game... but it disappoints me in a lot of ways. I guess I'll go make do with it.
