the game freezes logging into server

i haven't been able to play mgs tpp for days because anytime i try and launch the game it will just freeze when it says logging into server and ive seen people have this same issue before but i never learned if there was a solid... hah, fix so that way it wont just freeze when it starts up so any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Happened to me just yesterday and all I did to resolve it was exit the Steam software and launch the game. When I did that, Steam did some sort of update, then launched the game. Since the game has worked for me flawlessly for 5 years I had the suspician it was the Steam software holding it up and sure enough, that was it.

So how do you suppose i go about updating steam? should i like uninstall it and it will like download an update? restart my computer? what do i do?

Ok so i wanna shed some light on this issue because i just re set up my computer and the game logged in and im almost positive the reason my ♥♥♥♥ wouldn't load is as SIMPLE as my LAN port being ♥♥♥♥♥♥. further evidence shows this being true because i shut down my PC multiple times with the same LAN port and it loaded and then i unplugged my LAN cord and put it in my OTHER port (Which i was apparently using the whole time that made the game crash because something in the port was fried) i loaded up the game and i was releaved to see that using that port made the game crash. so, buttcheaks clenched i plugged my LAN cord back into the one im using now and it worked. SO LISTEN! IF THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ IS HAPPENING TO THE WHOLE TWO OTHER PEOPLE WITH THIS ISSUE, TRY ANOTHER LAN PORT! YOU MIGHT WANNA SHOOT YOURSELF AFTER YOU FIND OUT THAT THE ONLY ISSUE WAS THE PORT
