METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Why has no army developed a Metal Gear in real life?
Wouldn't that be a great advantage?

No.
Japan does have a giant robot but no AI and such, nuking a country "without retaliation" sounds cool but what would be the point of doing so ? It does more harm in the long run.

I'll say they should devellop something like the arsenal GW, controlling the opinions of humans sounds better, and you can actually see this IRL, you know like "If you support X you are evil incarnate" and such.

I would like to talk more about this topic but it's against steam rules so I'll avoid doing so.

Because anything a metal gear could do. We can already do with less expensive equipment.

They have - we just don't see them walking around the cities

The original point of Metal Gear was for the "stealth nuke" capability which, frankly, is impossible. We have too many methods of detection for a nuke to travel anywhere stealthily once armed.

Because a tank is vastly superior to a bipedal walking mecha

Maybe because MGS is not exactly a realistic game series in the first place? Honestly, the only realistic thing in MGSV might be 31 ammo in the clip because there is 1 in the chamber

Everything else is quite obviously not 100% real

And choked enemies do not sleep for that long

And you never have perfect silence no matter what noise muffling shoes you might be wearing

Because its not necessary nor possible

Humanity found out we could destroy our cradle, our planet, with an almost limitless supply of hydro/nuclear-bombs and once the Tzar Bomba was tested (at HALF payload, mind you) we found out that in a radius of 900+ km windows would break, nevermind what would happen closer into the circle of death. This bomb puts the Horishima bomb to shame; it could wipe out entire states (in the US).

Scared ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when faced with this kind of inhuman power, humanity decided these kind of weapons are overkill and meant for total annihilation of a planet (if the nuclear winter is taken into consideration) and should be treated with the greatest respect and never, ever used again. Not even tested. Hence the whole N-Korea debacle a while ago -- they were still testing like a child playing with a railgun. Even China and Russia agreed N-Korea had to stop. Imagine Trump toying around with the West's biggest bombs. He has no actual power.

And this, my fellow men and women, is why a shadow government is required, not optional. This web of highly intelligent and powerful people behind the scenes is why we are all still here, alive and breathing. Sort of.

No sense

A Metal Gear just sounds expensive and inefficient, we have drones, nukes and tanks, i'm sure the likes of the US, Russia and China would ideally like to have some sort of weapons system in near earth orbit capable of launching missiles and bombs... think about what an advantage that would be to a country who pulls that off

A) Google it all if you have the time, it will make sense and the Tzar Bomba articles and videos are amazing and terrifying -- and yes, I am an anti-conspiracy theorist

B) Simple English -> Humans make weapon -> weapon too strong as it can annihilate entire planets if wanted -> all nations, even archenemies, agree to sign treaty to dispose and control production of said weapon because if not -> humanity no more.

Its a child logic, it has little to do with a real nature of order.
Not to mention conclusion is super wrong and unlogical

They did. Most didn't have legs though, just big wheels (some did have legs, just big clunky 60s legs).

The Avro Big Wheel ICBM launch platform comes to mind. Hard to find info on it but its out there.
Russian Topol ICBM launchers are the main inspiration for Metal Gear Rex I think.

Some interesting reading:

Looks super fake or non realiseable

If by metal gear u thinking of a missile carrier then they are do exist(like Topol)
But at the same time its better to increase range or have atomic submarines

Bipedal MG doesnt exist and kinda couldnt due complicity

What about recreating Shagohod? Too unrealistic or too impractical or too outdated by modern standards?
