Copying msgv files

Is it possible to copy my friend's mgsv files to my steam? Will it work?
I can't download it myself since I have some issue with my internet connection :/

Yes, you can. I have mine as a back up so you can do the same with other save file.

Yes, the folder goes to steamapps/common. You cannot see it there because during normal installation through Steam it is downloaded to steamapps/downloading first then copied to common.
Once you have copied the files, hit install in your library and Steam will check and register them - this may take some time but nothing should be downloaded (if your friend's game is up-to-date). Then you can play.

He is talking about game files, not saves.
