METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN

Do you ever use crack climbing?
Honestly this mechanic is only useful in mission 1 to complete a side objective and in that side op when you have to extract a black kid. Except for that i never found use for it

Hm, there is one in the codetalker mission which is kinda useful only if you want to avoid the skull sniper chicks
other than that its an underused mechanic, probably because there isnt any good places where using this will give an advantage/be very useful

Honestly I was expecting a lot more cracks around the cliffs of Afganistan.

There are a few useful ones, but they're generally really hard to spot.

as Lar Dass says, Code talker has a really good one near the waterfall.

Another good one is on the left side of the fort in 'Over the wall' which makes it an utter breeze to get in to the building with the prisoner.

Mm, not really. I use it every now and then in OKB Zero, to the leeft of the first gate, if I feel like being sneaky instead of the old "Tank Blaring Gloria" approach; Less lights, good vantage points. Other than that though, I think I've only even -thought- about using the cracks because a few mods places objectives in some weird places, in vanilla I forget that it even exists.

Heh...crack.

I never use the crack around black kids, I don't want them exposed to that s**t. There are better ways to complete the mission.
