I think you shouldn't take it too literally anyway, the metal gear series has quite some excplicit naming on characters and certain items. The series has a lot of....abstract form of creativity... which is typical of Kojima directed games.

I've seen enough video of just that. It's the same concept. saying someone is naked when they're just very revealing. That's the point. There are many in this world who think that way. The Ultra religious think that way too, doesn't really matter the religion.
