I Hate Helicopters in This Game
Side Ops: Eliminate Enemy Tank and other missions

Helicopters are easy to take out. But there is just something so annoying about having to call in a support drop just to get a rocket launcher for one thing. Every time I see one, it's just like, "Of course, there's a chopper... sigh..."

Another reason, putting a chopper on the scene does one of two things. Well, for me it does one. It creates a situation where the enemies are on guard no matter what. You could argue that you can stealth kill everything without being seen by the chopper buuut yeah I dunno.

The moment you take out that chopper, everybody is on high alert for the rest of the mission.

Is it logical? Yes. Does it add a bit more challenge? Yes. Does it make the mission Dark Souls hard? No.

Okay, so what's the problem?

It's sooooooooooooooo annoying.

Now, there are missions in which the helicopter is used in very good ways. There is one main mission in which, if you think about it, you realize you can hop on the back of an enemy truck and sneak in that way, which is cool.

But man, those tank side ops get so annoying. Maybe it's because there are so many of them? I dunno.

I'd like to see a person who would hire a PF soldiers who do not notice a huge ass explosion of the chopper that was supposed to help them patrol the area

in the most of these side ops one of the soldiers has the rocket launcher. why not use it?

there are tons of ways to deal with them, I sneak and fulton everyone, then I deal with chopper with Quiet and hand grenades, pretty neat

You know what i hate?
MGO3 could be so good, but it obviously doesn't want to by putting low rank players against high rank players.

I'd need a friend to boost my enforcer character, so i can use op weapons against unbelievably skilled players. While i'm still new.

Well, they hire soldiers who drop their weapons at the sight of a poster with a woman on it... or wait, no... it's only when the poster is on a moving, breathing box whispering "BARK!" at D-Dog.

But if one of those soldiers nearly fondling the box bumps into one of the four other men standing there, REFLEX !!!

Or how about the guys who will walk past you in broad daylight when you're laying on the ground with a big ass rocket launcher on your back?

Besides, I said it was logical in the original post. Just because something is logical doesn't mean it makes for a great mission 10+ times when the sole objective is to take out the targets. I could easily just drop airstrikes on the entire field and then go farm tanks in easy missions.

Why don't you do that then? Because it's annoying. Why are you playing this game then? Good point. I guess because it got a 10/10 and I thought maybe it'd be amazing.

Yeah, that's what keeps the community from growing, too. I never understood that logic.

1-st of all it is not rank, it is level and those mean nothing, MGO3 died because of the bad netcode and no server-side calculations.

if you want realism join the army

lowering FOV for enemy soldier made the game more tens as you are sneaking preetty close to a person, if you made it real you would get spoted 100m away where it would not make any sense to make good model of soldiers as you would never ever get to see them up close.

and that's with the open world games - it is open to you to do it however you like - you want to do it the same way? go for it, but there are 50 ways to do each and every mission.

gamers: we want open world
devs: here you go
gamers: we can do anything?
devs: yes, anything. also have the arsenal of 400 weapons, speciall buddies and a chopper.

gamers: this is ♥♥♥♥, I play every mission the same way and it looks like the same mission. I am not able to discover the other way to do it so I'll just whine how it's so stupid

devs: *facepalm

same story for every open world game where there is no single path you have to take to do the mission.................

You can take down a chopper with an assault rifle or a sniper.
Seamus May 11, 2017 @ 9:05am
Looking for realism. In Metal Gear. Are you high?

Also, Kalsue is right. You can take down choppers with non explosive weapons. Most fun way is sniping the pilot.

This. All you need is some good penetration. 1 full tier 7 G44MG magazine is enough for most choppers. For the super tanky ones I use a tier 6 Brennan Sniper and hide behind some rocks so it doesn't spot me immediately. I heard you can shoot the guy flying the chopper, but couldn't pull that off so far, not even with Acceleramin.
ChrisPharmD May 11, 2017 @ 10:01am
Oh I did not know that you could down one with an assault rifle. Thanks.

Right, I didn't think you could because it doesn't seem logical. Enemies can shoot your helicopter down, but that's if there are many people shooting you at once with heavy weapons. Also, Quiet has never shot at an enemy helicopter either. Not to mention, you have a silencer that breaks after 2 shots.

I've never even tried anything else but an RPG? Are you sure about that? You might want to check that.
