I have a couple of imitation SNES controllers that make the game completely freak out when they're plugged in.
It shouldn't happen every few minutes. When it happens with me, it's so far and few in between. I'm talking maybe once or twice every few weeks. If you're getting it constantly, something is wrong. Not sure what, but something. It's just showing your cursor, so maybe something in the settings? I don't think so, but possibly.
Do you have any external programs regarding cursor or mouse? That's what it is though, it's a cursor, but whey it keeps coming back every few minutes is anyone's guess.
Did you customize your Windows mouse pointer/cursor *in any way whatsoever* (Appearance, clicklock, that sort of thing)? If you did, set it back to default.
