FOB - Guards taking multiple tranq headshots to down
I've now tested this multiple times and without a doubt, there are FOBs with guards who take more than one headshot from a tranquilizer gun to down.

I'm using the Wu Silenced pistol at level four and have been invading FOBs because this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful mechanic is the only way to get reasonable amounts of GMP and resources in the endgame and noticed that after hitting a guard with a headshot on a FOB I was invading, he did nothing at all. I thought that I must have missed so I shot him again - at which point he turned around and then a second later passed out.

EVERY other guard on the FOB was like this.

And on the FOB I just invaded, I triggered reflex mode by accident - which had me put three tranq shots into the guard before he went down.

My question is if the 'anti-tranq' upgrades in the fob research tree do this, and if so, what the ♥♥♥♥, Konami. Either this is from them or it's hacking, and either way it's complete and utter ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Guards get helmets AND now don't go down in one hit from headshots? How ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard are FOB invasions supposed to be?

Get a better Wu. Or just use the stun S-1000 and CQC.

Do you remember what grade was the armor they were wearing? I believe anything over grade 6 they are wearing helmets.

And... one tiny thing to also keep in mind is that helmets don't protect the face area. Meaning that when you shot that guard again after he turned around, that headshot you landed was effective because it was on the front side of the head. Anything other than the face for helmet wearing guards will not hit at all for tranquilizer darts.

Also, keep in mind that tranquilizer shots DO NOT have armor piercing properties like most powerful rifles. It's just a tiny dart that will bounce off the helmet.

Additionally, if you're landing body shots, the time and number of shots it will take to put an enemy to sleep will depend on 1) the grade of your weapon, and 2) the anti-tranquilizer tech they have developed.

So, it's really not the game, probably you did not notice that.

Allow me to correct if this wasn't clear: These were NOT helmet hits. The guards in both cases were not wearing helmets. These were hits on the head, at close range, that took multiple shots to down.

There's no WTF about it. You're still peon. When you grow up and become a big boy, the big boy weapons still take them out.

It's not hacking, you're just peon level.

No it's not. We all went through the peon phase. You can get through it just like everyone else. It feels like it takes forever, but reality is that you can do in about 6 months. All the while you'll slowly be increasing your grade, just make sure you upgrade the right items. What sucks is having to start back on a new item that you should have been developing all along. Every big dawg in this game went through the peon stage. You can do it too.

You ain't seen nothing yet. It gets harder. The key is to use the right weapon loadout. That and eliminate reinforcements before you go in. If you ask nicely and not like some guy who's about to rage quit then there's many here that will gladly share their knowledge with you so you're working on the right things.

Edit: OMG, I just realized you only have 48 hours in game. Uh...... Yeah, you ain't seen nothing yet. Get a few hundred hours under your belt then come back and complain about how hard it is.

You should make the guard read your complain, that should put them to sleep faster than you did with your weapon, joke aside you have far too little time on this game to complain about FOB gameplay, even people with over 3000 hours still discover new stuff, at some point you will probably invade with low deployment cost because you'll avoid most guards or you'll go rambo with a heavy deployment cost, you still have a lot to learn, try to invade me and see what I'm talking about, zam.

At very late game, you can upgrade FOB guards to be resistant to sleep, which means it can take several headshots even with a sniper(zzz) to get them to go night-night.

Honestly just go sneaky leathal at higher FOB's.

That's pretty ridiculous tbh. How is anyone supposed to nonlethal through FOBs if scoring a tranq headshot under the helmet just makes them turn around and trigger a millasecond reflex mode, and then getting a SECOND tranq headshot still doesn't sleep them in time to alert the entire base?

Yeah kinda stupid tbh, you have to send your dudes to sabotage and stuff before I guess :I

Use a better gun, or improve yourself, it's possible to reach the core without touching a single guard, even if in the video below I did it with the last guard but it was just so that he would only have 3 stuff in the security log: Intruder appeared, Staff neutralized by gunfire, intruder reached the core, zam.

FOB is ♥♥♥♥ made for time wasting. It favors your skill less then your gear. There are legal items that let you teleport from death. Literaly! Better play MGO.

Headshot no matter the grade of your weapon will instant kill an ennemy no matter their armor grade, you can infiltrate an ennemy FOB with a grade 4 sniper tranq rifle and a magazine plus some drugs, of course FOB is not for everyone since it's not very casual friendly, that's why many people play SP over FOB, at least the guards there are very weak compared to grade 11 S++ soldiers or a defender with grade 11 gear, so maybe you guys should stick to SP and not complain about FOB since you really don't know that much about it, zam.

Welcome to hell Son. Soon you will encounter such hellish FOB's that you will lose your will to play the game.

Yeah, go deal with the speed hackers instead of playing FOB where there are far fewer cheaters. :cfacepalm:

You only think it's ridiculous because you're still peon. Get the proper weapons for the job and it's no big deal. Now are you still going to whine about how ridiculous it is or are you going to start asking the questions you should be asking. Think about what those questions should be.
