Using D-Dog
Anyone else find he always gets you caught during stealth/infiltration missions? He has some useful abilities such as sensing enemies but damn, does he enjoy disobeying my "Wait" command. Not a discussion as such, just a small rant about that disobedient mutt :)

He won't do that if you use corner cover.

But then you have the problem of him being behind you and getting stunned when you bodyslam guards...

He liked to sit on C4 as well. Crash-yelp-thunk, "Your bond with D Dog has been reduced"

Dog makes the game 10x easier but he can f-ck you over multiple times

To be fair, sometimes I had to restart during my "eavesdrop" objective runs because of D-Dog running into people talking... And, as the scripts for these events are very fragile, everything goes to ♥♥♥♥ the instant they're disturbed anyhow.

There are some missions that I use DD merely to mark the enemy and then dismiss him from the idroid prior to actually going for the objective. He does have the tendency to get in the way. Not always, but enough to make it annoying. I also believe the wait command is broken. It doesn't get any better with max bond. He still never waits. If you get far enough away from him or enough time passes which is relatively short, he'll do what he wants anyhow. He need to learn that I'm telling him to wait for his own safety. Ocelot didn't do a good job teaching him.

I agree; Quiet is 100% the most effective/useful buddy. Never used D-Horse for anything other than general traversing and once you get D-Walker the horse gets replaced lol. Idk why D-Dog just ignores "wait" and its SO annoying.

evry time I have been sneaking and they see D-Dog they just say, "sho get out of here" i've been laying prone next to him in the dirt with my head down and a missle launcher on my back and the dude who spotted me when I had just been moving comes all the way up to me where I could reach out and touch him while i am just in open dirt looks right at me, shoos D-Dog and turns around. I've had this happen on multiplue occassions where I am spotted and they stop looking after shooing D-Dog I really like having him on stealth missions as opposed to Quiet who always has to shoot the guys I am trying to intterogate just because Reflex Mode activated

The only problem with ddog is he sometimes get in the way and blocks my shots, that's about it. I never find the need to use the "wait" command and don't have problem with him following me around everywhere, that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ has wallhack cheat and never miss a target and what more can you ask for.

I mean come on, learn how to work with your buddies instead of always wanting to blame other for your failures. LOL

DDOG FOB DLC $3.99. I will buy this in a heartbeat

He can run into guards you're trying to sneak by which can make them look in your direction.

Remember what Ocelot said about DD? He did said "If he doesn't do what you want him, he's just doing what he thinks is right in the situation".
The "wait" command only last about 20s or so, so you'll need to time it right.

I only bring DD when I am gathering plants or on a mission that I need distraction (DD's bark can attract guards' attention within 60m radius).

Once you develop video surveillance head for D-Walker (it has detection range about 170-180m and can even detect enemy indoor), all other buddies (except D-Horse) become obsolete.

i didnt acc know there was a time constraint on the wait command tbh, this is very possible cos i often say "wait" then scout quite far then he pops up messing with me. That would explain a lot

Also to everyone saying "learn to play w your buddies you ♥♥♥♥ guy hueheu" this wasnt even a serious post....it was just a joke after he got me caught once lmao quiet ftw

Yeah, when that first happened to me, I was infuriating because he bumped into a guard and caused him to look into my direction.

One thing you can do when sneaking pass a guard in narrow passage is to get as close to the passage as you can and tell DD to wait, then you proceed to sneak pass the passage. Once it's done, make sure you are well hidden (use a box if necessary) and just wait for DD to come to you. This way even if he bumps into enemy, you won't get caught.
