Stuck on Sortie Prep Screen in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain
So, as the title suggests, I'm stuck on Sortie Prep screen. I changed the color of my weapons and now whenever I go into Sortie Prep the weapon color is still not changed and if I try to pick a different weapon the weapons disappear. If I try to start a mission after the weapons disappear, the game just stays on the picture of Snake and buddy without starting the mission. I used to be able to restart the game and it would work for a while, but now restarting it doesn't help at all. I can play missions if I just accept what I have in my inventory, but I would love to put suppressors on my weapons... Any help would be much appreciated.

Sounds like you've got a mod screwing things up.

Have not seen it mess up like this for anything except for a rogue mod.

The only mod that I have installed is the FOV mod... Other than that, I stay away from mods. I only play single player and whatnot, so I'm not worried about getting "an advantage" or whatever... But you guys think I should uninstall it?

Temporarily remove the mod and try it again. That's the same mod that was messing me up not that long ago and I had to remove it. It would do weird things to the Sortie prep screen and once I got into a level I couldn't see at all. If that's not the problem, it's not the problem and you can put it back, but I had to remove it because it was causing problems.

Okay, so I removed the mod, verified game files, etc... And it just did it to me again.

Only thing left I can think of is something corrupt in the save file or maybe something that doesn't get checked or passes verification, but is still bad. Might just be something with your system too. I think this is a unique situation.

If it were me, I'd back up my save file to a safe place. Completely uninstall the game and redownload and install. Play through the hospital scene and a few missions to see if it's better. Copy in the save file and see if it's better or if it goes back to bad.

That would tell a lot of information. If it's fine after redownloading, but goes bad when the save file is copied in you're kinda screwed and might have to start over. If it works all around, great you fixed it. If it's bad from the get go, it's something with your system.

That's the only thing I can think of.

good luck with that one.

Thanks for the information, I'll let you know the results of my experimentation.

Cool. Out of curiosity, what's your GPU?
