without mods, game is capped at 60.

All the videos say just change it from auto to variable in the config.

I've not heard of that, although I am familiar with editing config files for games. My apologies on being an idiot here.

For most people they can't notice the difference between 40 to 60 let alone 60+ to just 60. If you are at 70 be happy and play on.

Say that to the people who has monitors that has a refresh rate of 144Hz.

BJ,

I have the same setup as you and I did the change to the config file. For some reason though, the game is still utilizing maybe 34% GPU usage and hardly any CPU usage.

I have a 240 hz monitor, and while the game does fell very smooth and with no lag at all, I still am trying to figure out how to utilize 100% GPU. I'll let you know if I find a solution. Don't listen to all the nerds who complain about us trying to get higher FPS, they dont know any better.

What they don't realize is that, if we can get more FPS, maybe we can turn up a ton of settings in NCP like 4k dynamic resolution and forced anti-aliasing options for a better gaming experience.

I didn't say that I wasn't. I atleast didn't go out of my way, to post something about another person, in a forum that you haven't contributed too. Thats just being mean. Do you have anything constructive to add to help BJ?

BJ,

So I tried switching the graphics profile to windowed fullscreen with the variable FPS and that is giving me around 100fps. Still only using about 37% GPU usage so my best guess, is that engine has a built in limit, kinda like Skyrim or ony of the Call of dutys.

Anyway to get your config file?
Variable I get 90fps in the menus but it locks to 60 in game at motherbase and missions.

Why would you need more than 60 fps? Just because you can run a game at higher FPS doesn't mean you should. Give your PC a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ break and cap it at 60. Too many people take their rigs for granted and constantly push them to the max when it's obviously unecessary. The only game that arguably needs more than 60 fps is something like Counter-Strike where every frames makes a difference.

Funny you just posted that. I just read it. Only thing I have different is make sure nvidia is set to maximum performance. Config file do fullscreenwindowed and Variable. Still is capped somehow. I think Engine.
