Skipping MSX Metal Gear ?
Hi, just for know, does the MSX Metal Gear still worth playing only for their stories, or can I skip them to directly playing Metal Gear Solid, just by reading their stories in the bonus ? Thanks by advance :)

Kojima didn't have neither the big picture nor the ability to tell story like today. And you won't feel the same as MGSV. The first two are focusing more on the stealth mechanism rather than story. (In you words, still playable). Like mario games, you will never care about the story, but still fun to jump around. One of the charm of MGSV is that he actually connect the story back to the beginning, and solve the greatest BUG in his early year storytelling: Why you can kill Big Boss Twice. In my perspective, MGSV is proof of MSX MGs' lame storytelling.

Well, if you are there for the story, it's totally not worthy. You can still catch up MGS easily.

But to feel the perfection of those Kojima games and those good old days of gaming.
Play it.

Story-telling isn't that great in both games, but MG 2 is significantly better at it than MG1. Cinematics weren't that widely implemented in games at the time (but do check out the MG2 intro sequence! It's great). For some, it's hard to 'go back' to games of that era, just because of the dated graphics and gameplay. The dialogue is sometimes pretty awful too.

I'd advise you to at least watch a playthrough for just a little and maybe you'll be inspired to play them yourself. Then get the story synopsis somewhere else if you're not convinced.

If you REALLY like 2D games, play them, otherwise, go straight to MGS.

The only thing that motivate me to do these game is the story, but I heared the summary in MGS is largely good enough, it is true ?

Well, yeah. You can get the story one way or another. But if you're not involved for the gameplay, why not just go straight to the synopsis (or MGS1)? You already made up your mind from the looks of it.

I will try to express myself better :

Once finished, when I will start MGS I would not be jettisoned by this so-called lack of information (if it exists ?) in relation to its summary

Although the games are old, do we still feel something in the story by playing it

And are the games still playable ?

I don't care about the graphism by the way.

Thanks.

Thanks for your help, I will give them a chance in this case :)

I played the first one and it was pretty enjoyable for what it is, just don't expect the story to be anything significant.
I haven't played the second game yet but I heard that game resembles much closer to the later Metal Gear games and people have stated that it's one of their favourite 8-bit games so perhaps you should at least give that one a shot if you can.

Otherwise, Metal Gear Solid will contain synopses for both games that you can read.

I will take MGS 3 Subsistance on PS2 to play them

I advise you should look up a guide for Metal Gear 1.
There can be times where you may be missing an important item that is hidden somewhere obscure.
And whatever you do, avoid killing any prisoners or the final boss will be undefeatable.
It should be pretty simple to not let that happen unless you encounter a boss named Dirty/Coward Duck who has three hostages that can lose your rank if you accidentally shoot them.

I would actually give credit to MG2:Solid Snake regarding its story--which is feels a lot like MGS1 and has a surprisingly realized MGS-like story.

Metal Gear 1 barely has a story, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake has a very indepth and well written story with codec dialogues

I played the entire series and started with Solid. You won’t miss much, and the game explains what happened in the MSX games pretty well.
