Cant charge stun arm using controller

I read online to hold LT which should charge it up and then RT to swing. When I hold LT it doesn't charge the arm it just zooms in a little bit over my shoulder and when I hit RT I just do a weak jab

Dunno about the controoler but for me I need to select the stun arm so it is equipped. Then use the button that I use to ADS and then the fire button to deliver the shock.

Ready it like c4 then charge it iirc.

yeah i got it equipped and it doesn't do anything

I just noticed it says it's supplied by kinetic energy and solar power. I've been doing all my missions at night does it only work in the sun?

You can see its charge level on the icon. Pretty sure that simply moving will charge it,.
