METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN
How can Snake aim with his eye patch???
You can even see the weapon sight in first person, how's that possible??

He's leaning over the gun, with his eyes aligned vertically and centered behind the sight. If this was a view from his right eye you'd see more of the leadup to sights instead of it being right in your face like that.

Honestly his vision is kind of cramped, and he always holds the gun too close to his eye. The 'centeredness' is kind of weird too. If he was using a normal shooting stance he'd have the gun planted in the center of his chest, so again he's holding his head funny compared to a normal person.

This is obviously not possible. This is just a game, you know. There is no logical situation... Just have fun.

No, that means Snake has a 3rd eye.
In mgs 3 when snake lost his eye the screen is dark in one area.
I think it's called using your other eye

it doesn't make sense how he is able to aim rifles and other long guns. Pistols i can understand, he can just use his other eye, but if he's holding a rifle in his right hand he wouldn't be able to aim with his left eye.

Nano-machine? xD

If psycho mantis and flying horse thing exist in this universe anything is possible
How does he aim accurately with no depth perseption? Simple it's not real life.

You dont need to hold a rifle left handed in order to use your other eye to shoot through the rifle sights. Try this:

1) make a thumbs up gesture with your left hand and hold your left arm in front of you stretched out and with your thumb pointed up

2) close one eye, doesnt matter which one...use your non-shooting eye and close it if you want

3) with your open eye focus on your left thumb that is out in front of you

4) make a thumbs up gesture with your right hand, thumb pointing up and move your right thumb in front of your face until its lined up with your left thumb.

5) position your right thumb maybe a foot or a foot and a half away from your face while you do this

Your left thumb is the front sight of your rifle and your right thumb is the rear sight. Pan your "rifle" around your room and look for a target. Take note of your head and neck position while doing this. OK....now close your other eye and repeat the above and keep looking for targets. Because of eye domination you'll have to readjust your head slightly. But that head adjustment wont be so severe that you wont be able to put your cheek up to the stock in order to look at your sights.

When i was in the military doing one of my rifle qualifications one of the instructors suggested that i try shooting with my other eye to see if i was more accurate that way. The slight tilt in my head shooting with one eye vs the other didnt affect me looking through the sights.

EDIT: ideally you want to keep both eyes open when shooting any weapon. But shooting with one eye closed *is* possible, but does have certain drawbacks.

There is this thing called point shooting/instinct shooting where you aren't using the sight (pretty sure snake does this while firing from third person with long guns).
Also, I shoot right but am left-eye dominant. If I were to close my right eye while aiming down sights, I'd still be able to keep the gun on target. Especially an assault rifle or other weapon where I don't have to manipulate anything on the left side. You could simply roll your head a little further to the side and presto can still see sights.

Depth perception is another can of worms, but still something that one can work around, and one that doesn't directly affect shooting, actually. It affects your ability to range, but not the actual shooting.
My eyes have different focal lengths, so it's actually hard for me to aim something like a gun without closing one eye first (as the other provides conflicting visual information.) Not an issue with games because the monitor is always more-or-less the same distance away.

One eye can mimic the depth perception of two by rapidly shifting its focal legnth, or just wiggling it back and forth a bit. Once you've gotten a range doing that you can use sight-assisted point-shooting and movement prediction to take care of the rest.

You might notice Venom's eye is kinda twitchy.

I think the truth is Big Boss aim with our eyes :x3:
he uses hacks, like auto aim. but no it could be a nano patch he has on which gives him partial vision that supports his shots
