And explain why solid snake is inferior.
Solid Snake had a hard life and actually got the inferior gene compared to liquid and the perfect clone solidus. Solid is the good guy... Big boss later became bad and killled a bunch of people
Both Snakes are great, but where Naked Snake wins by a 'landslide' is in his supporting cast. EVA, Paramedic, Major Zero, and SIGINT were all fantastic supporting characters with fun and memorable interactions and dialogues. Solid Snake has the fantastic voice of Colonel Cambell, but that's about it. I genuinely dislike the weeb scientist man whose name for some reason escapes me, Meryll is alright, and Johnny is a problem in MGS4.
That said I didn't play the DS games where Naked Snake becomes a paedophile so perhaps my opinion is skewed.
If we talking about a 1v1 fight then Solid Snake.
As for who is the better character, Still Solid Snake for me. Big Boss's character is full of him having mommy issues being bamboozled over and over thinking what he was doing was what The Boss would have wanted.
I like Big Boss' backstory more, but that's just a personal preference.
As Naked said "you've written your own history"
P.s. Paz mirage could be also his personal grief(as not understanding why she betrayed crew, cause they loved her and thought that she loved them(Paz's "of course, this is you thinking that I should think that") + memories of Naked
P.p.s. medic could tell the difference between him and naked by himself(The Truth episode, when he saw his real face in reflection) without cassette in the end
Pp.p.s. that's why I like Venom. It's really deep and thoughtful character, who you can interprete differently, depending on how deeply you know the lore or you own sense of life and judgment
Pppp.s. and like in MGS1 Kojima returned to "we are who we made ourselfs" thing, which is beautiful thought
(probably because i started with peace walker)
Well, Solid was a yes man at first and just a pawn, but later on it seems like he follows in Naked's footsteps by making something like a PMC, but this time he's doing it for 'good,' or for retaliation against the already existing military industrial complex and the Patriots by extension.
Naked made a PMC to follow the Boss's will, so that they could be free from influence. Solid made a PMC to be free from the Patriot's influence, so they're actually quite similar in the end. Solid just seemingly didn't become a villain.
Big Boss was a victim of circumstance. He lost his parents in Pearl Harbor, [1] he was forced to kill his mentor the Boss who was framed for an attack on the Soviet Union by Colonel Volgin, [2] and then Major Zero sent Paz to weasel her way inside and lead to the events of Ground Zeroes where the entire base got destroyed. [3]
Big Boss also had the clone project done ENTIRELY against his will when Dr. Clark (Paramedic) took his gene samples. Nobody asked his permission to make those cloned sons of his and he never regarded them as his children. It was literally the gender flip of a forced child bearing.

I would also like to point out Big Boss has only canonically killed a handful of people. A HANDFUL.
That would be Colonel Volgin, Zadornov, Viper and Cunningham in Portable Ops, and indirectly, Skull Face. Big Boss even in the Outer Heaven days never sought to kill anyone but Solid Snake, he considered Solid Snake an abomination, he was a living mockery that Major Zero and Cipher made of him.
Miller betrayed Big Boss because he felt "used" by the Phantom BB project, when it could have been solved with a very simple conversation.
You factor all of that in and Big Boss would be doing what he felt best for his survival. He was banned as a war criminal from entering any nation allied with the United States, everyone wanted him dead because of all the crimes he got framed for in Portable Ops when he was jailed.
Big Boss was not a criminal, he was not a villain. He was misunderstood and became the scapegoat of everyone else's wrongdoings and governments sweeping things under the rug.
Meanwhile Naked was betrayed by everyone, but he still had the will to live, and set out to build a haven for soldiers like himself , so that soldiers do not get treated as disposable tools like he was.
To me Naked is a hero, though the story framed him like a villain
