V Theory: Did Kazuhira Miller betray Venom Snake?
There are some ambiguous things:

1. Miller is the only one who sends Missions to Venom's idroid claiming that "these are the jobs only you can handle."

2. The conversation between Kaz and Ocelot after the Mission 46: truth credits. Does it occur before or after the game?

3. Who gives Venom the Operation Intrude N313 mission cassette tape?

4. Why is Miller's nickname 'Benedict.'

What do you think? All opinions will be considered and appreciated.

2 - After

3 - the real Big Boss

i don't see the other points as valid argument to support your theory

big boss dies
1. Well to be honest being one man army and fighting supernatural, magical stuff and giant robot. Of course only Big Boss can handle such thing.

2. Probably occurs after the game.

3. Big Boss send it to Venom. There's a chance that he might gave the tape himself but i kinda doubt it.

4. I think his name doesn't matter. Probably changed it several times as a new identity.

Well, i don't think he betrayed him though. He was planning to make Venom grow stronger as a revenge to Big Boss but Venom himself is supporting Big Boss. Probably got bored and eventually left Diamond Dogs in search for Big Boss's son as his last resort for revenge.

1. i thought that Miller being solely responsible for giving Venom Missions is kind of like a training so that Venom doesn't suspect that something is different when he receives a Mission that isn't like the others.

1a. Why does Venom receive a mission that is Solid Snake's mission?

2. I thought that the conversation between Kaz and Ocelot could've been anytime during the game since there isn't any indication that Kaz didn't know what Ocelot told him other than the Zero phone call he receives before 1984.

3. Is there any proof other than imagination that shows that Big (naked) Boss gave Venom the Operation Intrude Mission? I know that the flipside of the cassette is The Man That Sold The World but the only time we see that cassette is the small cutscene before Venom wakes up at the very beginning of the game titled "Just Another Day In Outer Heaven." Someone with a metal hand puts the cassette into a walkman in front of the mirror.

4. Yeah maybe Kaz changed his name a bunch of times, but he's still called 'Kaz Miller' even after he worked with Cipher because where in the world are you going to hide from Cipher?

4a. If 'Benedict' doesn't mean anything, then 'Venom' and 'Revolver' don't mean anything either. But, that isn't true. Venom is Snake's codename in V and Revolver is also very meaningful.

-- I know Big Boss dies. He's only human.

-- Why does Miller send Solid against Venom? Miller says in the conversation with Ocelot, "Big Boss can go to hell and i'll make his phantom and sons stronger to send him there." Well, he trained Solid to defeat both Big Bosses. Did Miller think of Venom a disposable soldier? Someone he could discard in his way to gain revenge against Big (naked) Boss?

1. Miller is covering for the coverups when he says this.

2. Before. Ocelot says something like 'if the sons of big boss ever come looking' implying that Eli hasn't shown up yet.

3. Probably Miller. Snake probably caught him on his way out, taking one last nostalgic look.

4. 'Blessed.' He's blind and deaf in one ear, but he seems to know where everything is and how it all works just fine. Pretty big on self-sacrifice, damnation, extensive measures to get revenge. Usually lots of self-sacrifice though.

Considering 2 and 4, and the context that he and Ocelot will inevitably be rivals and one of them will have to kill the other: when Liquid "kills Miller and infiltrates mission support" rather than it being some sort of plot by Ocelot it's actually Miller's comeback: he kills himself in his house to maintain this cover story without Liquid or Ocelot having to actually take the time to kill him. They're all basically on the same side there, and here too.

Pretty sure Skullface is on that side too.

sounds pretty good, maybe this is it..... nevertheless, the bit about Metal Gear Solid 1 is excellent:

Miller stays one step ahead of the Patriots making his death his choice and not theirs, even though he knew they were going to eliminate him eventually -- he decided the "when" and "how."

Definitely shows that the Metal Gear series is no Far Cry, for sure.

In Mission 46: Truth Venom discovers that a music cassette contains a message and a secret mission on the flipside. What the game does not show you is that every musical cassette [Take On Me], [Quiet Life], [How 'Bout Them Zombies Ey?]. etc... has a SECRET MISSION ON THE FLIPSIDE.

Listening to the flipside of each musical cassette unlocks the missing mgsV Chapter 3.....

It was the way that the music swelled when I was taking Skullface's jeep ride for a second time that unlocked it for me. So, maybe. Every mission exists within a contained set, a certain group of scripts that everyone follows. A recording.

Venom's environment needs to be highly controlled. He can't take missions all over Afghanistan, it has to be one network of valleys way in the north. The only moment that Venom actually has a chance to step outside of Patriot control and go off-script is after he's listened to the tape, after Snake is already on his way to kill him.

Venom is a ghost recording of Big Boss. Like a dub, Venom's vocals are missing and his narrative comes off as incomplete. The Phantom Pain is a retcon come alive that explains its story via absences and empty gaps.

The truth is that Venom is the most conditioned Snake. That is his punishment. Venom is Big Boss' legend and as such, can only act accordingly and within an extremely constrained script. The world only records him as Big Boss. Any other action, specifically off-script, is nullified and voided by a Patriot AI.

Venom is a closed loop. A four deck track. A singular day&night cycle played endlessly, like a closed circuit camera video-feed hacked by someone who only wants to show us the same 9m58s over & over again. His Metal Gear is no Midnight Club, for sure.

1. Not true. Kazuhira is his real name.
From the Peacewalker Cassette Tape called 'Upbringing':
"My father refused to see my mom. It was the first time I'd seen her in years, and she wouldn't even look at me. At first I thought she was mad at me. But that wasn't it. Disease had taken her mind... A disease she'd gotten when she was young and desperate. She didn't even know who I was. I said, "Mom, it's me, Kazuhira." As I spoke, the sound of my own voice rang in my ears. Kazuhira. The name my mom gave me. It means "peace" in Japanese. I was Japanese. At least, I was the son of this tiny Japanese woman. It was then, for the first time, that I understood the reason - the emotion - that inspired my mother to give me that name. She'd watched her hometown and family go up in flames. Her body and her mind were ravaged by war... And yet she chose to have a child named "peace," with a man who was once her enemy. Japan lost the war. But what good is war as a measure of a country? Since the war, and up until the oil shock last year, Japan's economy has grown every single year. It's on its way to becoming a stronger country than ever. I stayed in Japan and joined the JSDF. I was twenty-two at the time.

2. In Phantom Pain during the cutscene credits displayed before missions, Kaz's name is displayed like this: Benedict "Kazuhira" Miller

3. Where did the 'Benedict' come from? And why is his real name depicted in quotes, like a nickname?

If you look true ending, moment in hospital, you will spot "Paz" Pacifica Ocean

I think, Miller known as Benedic Miller,(dont remember if smn from staff called him by his ♥♥♥. name) but since Big Boss close to Miller, he calls him "Kaz" (short version of Kazuhira), so in some sense it became a nickname

For example (first name) "Holographix" (second name), but and instead of "Holographix" just "Graphix"

About conversation. Judging by sound when Kaz leaving the room, it happened at least after him being rescued. Although i didnt get why he didn't noticed shrapnel.

In my opinion it happened somewhere during the game.

Fair enough. "Kazuhira" is his real name but Diamond Dogs staff call him Miller, so his real name becomes a nickname? Where did Benedict come from though? It's not in Peacewalker.

Yeah, the sound of his cane on the floor during the cassette means the conversation with Ocelot happens after he's rescued. Miller pretends Venom is the real Big Boss, that's the ruse. But i don't know why Miller doesn't notice the shrapnel during his rescue. Maybe when Venom asks Miller about his eyes, Miller doesn't want to mention that he sees the shrapnel so he says "it's just bright is all."

Dunno, maybe in mgs1. I think its safer to say, that Kazuhira was made up later, so probably no one bothered to explain this.

I think, story lacks details to judge properly.
I think i was a bit to wrong previously, because Miller maybe lost his limbs after heli crash in GZ, i remember Ocelot saying smt about Miller refused to have one, in some of the first cassettes you got, but i could be wrong.

If thats true, i think it would be logical to say, that conversation happened between GZ and TPP, which would explain why Miller ignores shrapnel or he is a blind person, who doesnt act like a blind one(although i dont believe in blidness for a few reasoy), or Kaz is real fast thinking man, because he for sure know that medic has a shrapnel and just later waited for a opportunity as Ocelot, he was the one who bringed medic back in with such look.(i actually like the last version)
